Paintings of sea life, skin divers, squid, coral and papier-mache turtles, octopus and other marine creatures stood out against the stark black walls to create a "bot tom of the sea" atmosphere. Entrance was first through a lovely garden, on into a cave, and finally into the unusual ballroom setting. In the picture above, Stephanie Olvera picks her dance program from a treasure chest. With her are Jim Sheridan, Bill Mayhew and Phyllis Whitby. Committee members shown at right " worked under chairman Jim Beene.
