BASIN BRIEFS SUMMER LAKE FISH AND GAME MANAGE MENT students Jrom Oregon Kmt University staved overnight Saturday at the Summer Lake Game Refuge while on their an nual tour throughout the state to visit similar projects. FRANK OTT 111 stayed with the Bob Elders during spring va cation. He is a student at Oregon State University. MR. AND MRS. JACK IHLLAVOU, prest dent of the Bly Women's Club, has announced that a total of $140 was taken in during the last com munity dance held Saturday, March 30. MR. AND MRS. BITCH HAD LEY, Dee Peoples, and Percy Ballet are among the many peo pie recovering from the effcctsl of the flu. MRS. DAVID STEWART and daughter, Rhonda, left April 6 to go to Bend, where they joined Mrs. Stewart's father, and con tinued to Monument to spend a week visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Musgrave grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Da vid Musgrave, and John Stevens. Stewart will join them later and they plan to return on Easter Sunday. NICK AND BILL MIXON arc patients at Hillside Hospital. They were admitted to the hospital on April 4 and 6 respectively. Both have the flu. JIM FORD was a recent pa tient at Klamath Valley Hospital. He was admitted for a tonsil lectomy. NEW PINE CREEK MRS. SUSAN VINCENT, State Line School teacher, returned to teaching last Monday after hav ing the flu for more than a week. Mrs. Alice Allen substituted for her during her absence. Rental Rates For Tule Fairground Facilities Explained By Board TULELAKE In spite of some rumors which have been circulat-: ing around the community dur ing the past two weeks, the rental rates for the use of the Home Economics building on the Tulclake-Butle Valley fairgrounds have not increased according to Bill Whitaker, manager. Instead, an increased service has been added for large parties for which a charge will be made. The rates which are in existence now and have been since it was first used in 195S are as follows: Non-profit organizations per day, $10; Pri vate parties or commercial use, $25. Tiie only change made is that for large functions such as ban quets, where the tables andi chairs are to be set up, or formal dances where the hall is to be completely decorated and an or chestra hired, an additional $10 will be charged for which the fair will employ a man who is acquainted wilh the building to perform the following services: Set up tables and chairs, turn on heat and lights, open the hall one-half hour before guests ar rive, be on hand all during the event for emergencies, telephone service, etc., and remove the decorations and clean up the hall and restack the tables and chairs so the guests can go home after the event without having to stay to clean up. This charge will not be made nor the services provid ed for "after game dances" or Darties where the hall ii tint rW. orated or an orchestra employed providing that the hall is cleaned up by the groups using it. In the past, it has been diffi cult or nearly impossible to ex plain to each person in charge of a party where each water shutoff is, each fuse, each switch for flood lights, thermostats, each pas valve, fire extinguisher, etc. Because of this some near disas ters have occurred.
