Milady's' Spring Fashion Mood Is Soft, Feminine And Wonderful ' From LaPointe's come FRESH BREEZE Or FASHION the outfits of the two smartly garbed women shown here. Exciting and graceful to the women with high fashion in mind, thee ape makes a re-entry on the fashion scene and is modeled by Inei Rush, left. A smart crossover cowl collar enhances the fluent lines of this cape coat and suit of Arosak wool. A suit with freshness and eye appeal is shown by Erma Henry, right. Finely crafted, the couture elegance denotes the new shaped longer look. Handsome braid detail highlights the neckline and Docket trim. Favored Styles Look Graceful Fashion for spring revolves around a look of youthful grace and soft femininity. Silhouettes are diverse, but easv, uncluttered lines predominate, giving play to the beauties of fabrics and col ors. Whipped cream textures bubble up into the limelight, in appro priate colors whites and off whites, pale" beiges and pastels, clear prints. Traditional spring navy is brightened and lightened. For effective contrast, crisp and ribbed textures make an entrance, while rich, dark colors set off the many pale shades. "Pure and simple" tells thc dress story. Silhouettes are dubbed "natural." "skimmer," "shift," nil of which are agreed on easy, slender, figure - following lines. Princess curves, lifted waistlines, coatdress styling make spring news. The "open air" look, a country mood slicked up for town, concentrates on airy fabrics, open necklines, shirt-cuffed sleeves. '. Forever - fashionable jacket dresses appear in great numbers, while the dress - plus - coat gains new importance. ' Variety of silhouettes leads the1 way in suits. Handsome tunic suits herald a plentiful array of long-jackctcd styles of every type. Middy or pullover suits abound- either true pullovers or jackets with zippers so artfully concealed they .seem nonexistent. New emphasis on sleeves finds the shirt suit well to (he fore, showing off its shirt cuffs. Young and lively is the suit with hip-llip. or peplum effect, jacket. Designed to provide a refreshing change are the "dandy" suits man-tail ored to a perky perfection. . While "lean look styles are most numerous in coats, a silhou elte to watch is the coat with gathered back fullness. High waisted effects are created bv seamed yokes, integrated with the sleeve in front, and gathers across the back. A fashion world in itself, sports wear produces etary look of spring, in styles for every hour and occasion. News to note in cludes: a greater-than-ever wealth of knits, denim and denim ef fects, baie midriff separates, bell bottom as well as slim pants. long skirts for lounging and en tertaining, patio dresses and, in fact, a striking selection of lounge- wear of all types for casual liv ing. Simplicity of styling in coats. suits and dresses calls for dra matic accents. Hats are draped, high turbans in airy fabrics; straws wiih important crowns. brimless rr with often-uptilted brims; and, of course, the spring' perennial floral hats. Spanish influence is notable in brimmed hats of shiny straw. Re flecting the soft mood of fashion are snoods and berets, as well as hats with attached, drapahlc scarves. Impressive jewelry has a pre cious look, includes short, collar like necklaces: multiple strand beads for neckline fill-ins: pins and bracelets moving into prom inence. Soft neutrals and pastels stand out. Neat, ladylike handbags lend to boxy shapes, highlight texture interest. With the advent of the longer, narrower sleeve, short gloves are welcomed. However, the long, long glove prevails for evening and sleeveless daytime fashions. i V .t ' - - ARRIVE IN INDIA Mrs. Sarah McMfllan has received word that her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Ward and three children have arrived in Bang kok, India, where they will reside the next year and a half.
