Total numler of elk hunters last year was almost 5.1.000 Schneider continued, who report ed 19 per cent hunter success, comparable to elk hunting suc cess of previous years. Schneider said that the general season data is obtained from a random survey ol hunters, which according to statisticians is ac curate within plus or minus one n,.t rnnrr.A en-,...,.. a-,ti only and represents a minimum kill. A romp'ctc breakdown of the kill by game management units is not yet available. Schneider said, but Ihis information should he complete within a week or two. Idaho's Mooney In Pan-Am Suit MOSCOW, Idaho l'PI Uni versity of Idaho baseball star Dick Mooney will play second base for the United States in the Pan-American Games at Sao Pau lo. It is the only group A came on the schedule today and its result has no bearing on the destination of the trophy. But with East Ger many odds-on favorites to win everyone was wondering whether not the Western sextet will abide by the championship rules and pay homage to the flag and anthem of East Germany. Sweden virtually wrapped up the championship Friday night by whipping Canada, 4-1, lo remain undefeated after six games, while the hapless United States team was trounced by Russia, 90. The Russians are the only team with a chance to catch Sweden now, but they'd have to beat Can nda on Sunday and the Swedes would have to lose to C.cehoslo vakia on the same day. West German Interior Minister, Heinrich Hoechl said his govern ment would not accept the possi bility of the West German play ers having to salute the Commu nist East German symbols. This is referred to as the "walk-out problem." But is it a problem? How many come back? And as a result of brows ing, how many get ideas that turn in to purchases later on?
