Ocean Air Tests Seen SEATTLE (API - The United States may conduct nuclear tests in the atmosphere over the Pa cific Ocean next year. Sen. Henry M. Jackson, D-Wash.. said Mon day. Such tests might include the firing of Nike-Zeus ' anti-missile missiles against other missiles, Jackson said. We have weapons systems which haven't been tested, includ ing some components of the Nike Zeus anti-missile," he said in an interview., "And there Is a strong possibility that the Soviet Union also has developed an anti-missile missile." Jackson was also asked about competition between government and private shipyards for shipyard work. "The yard that can do the work should get the job," he said. "The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard at Bremerton, for instance, will play an important part in the repair and maintenance of nuclear sub marines because it is best equipped for the job." Security Measures Lax The subcommittee also charged that the United Nations' security measures were "dangerously lax." Bang-Jensen, a Dane, was sus pended from his U.N. post after he refused to turn over a list of Freedom Fighter witnesses wr-.o had testified on condition that their identities would not be dis closed. The witnesses feared Commu nist officials at the United Na tions would learn their identities and order reprisals against then relatives in Hungary. On Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26. 1959, Bang-Jensen was found dead in Alley Pond Park, New York. There was a bullet tnrougn his head. His own gun was in his hand and a suicide note, which the New York police said was In his handwriting, was found in his wallet. Sought Out Ike, Dulles The subcommittee said Bang- Jensen several times offered to supply President Eisenhower or A len W. Dulles, neaa ot tne uen tral Intelligence Agency, with data on Communist infiltration of the U.N. high command and of U.S. intelligence. . The evidence never was pre sented although, according to one version of the subcommittee tes timony, it involved the offer of a group of Communists' to defect to the United states. The Senate report concluded that there was "a lamentable ex ample of procrastination and in decision" in dealing witn Bang Jensen's request that he be al lowed to give data to top men in U.S. intelligence.
