Mrs. Roose velt said she had learned the language in school in England as a girl. Arnold Hartley, vice presi dent ot the Italian-language sta tion WOV, said her delivery was "grammatically perfect Italian but, like Mrs. Roosevelt's French, delivered in unmistakable Ameri can accents." Camp Fire Girls Camp Slated To Open August 8 The Camp Fire Girls Resident camp, Camp Ka-est-a at Lake of The Woods, will open Saturday, August 8, for a season of three weeks. In telling about Ihe camp. Mrs. Naomi French, camp direc tor, said that the three weeks will be full of fun and outdoor living experiences for girls eight to 18 years of age. Plans are being made for 100 girls in camp each week to en joy swimming, boating, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, arch ery, campfire programs and many other activities which will be planned by the girls after they arrive in camp. Mrs. French said that 268 girls now have reserva tions for the camp and although some units are full, girls may still register for unfilled unils each week or for all three weeks. by Camp Fire Girls or the Amen can Cainping Associatingn Health, safely, personnel and program standards for the camp comply with standards set up by national Camp Fire Girls camp ing department and the American Camping Association. The camp holds a full rating membership in the American Camping Associa tion, which is available only lo camps meeting ACA required standards. To hold the member ship, the camp is rated every four years by a committee of ACA visitors. The campsite, Camp Esther Ap plegale. is owned jointly by (he local Camp Fire Girl and Girl Scout councils and is being used during July by the Girl Scouts.
