Twelve miles of new road starting at the town of Sprague River and continuing east along the base of the tableland, on the north side of the river, and terminating at a point about four miles north of Beatty are now under construc tion. When this picture was taken, the survey was being made to set stakes for fences on either side of the road right-of-way to keep stock off the road. His wife, Kathleen, is a trick rider, and the couple spends most of their time on the road during the top of the season. Sublette is currently 10th in the bull riding standings. Maynard, from San Diego, staa cd rndeoing while still in his teens He first hit the bull riding top ten in 1952. and has stayed there almost constantly since. Like Sublette. Maynard is now In his late twenties. He rodeos the year around, and for the moment has no other plans. He is also entered for the oulldogging at the Klamath Basin Celebration. Peak started rodcoing when he was really young, at 13, and when he was 15 he won a day money at New York. Now 24. he measures 6 feet I, and calls Tucson home.
