Since her birthday, December 12, is "just-about'' holiday time, a ehristmas party was in dicated and that's what it was A Christmas-birthday, party "at home." Linda is the daughte of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Whytal, and their charming home in Pine Flat was the festive setting. Our holiday hope is that the "other Lindas" in the world end the year as happily and start the new one with the peace and security "our Lindas" know in this country. Merrill Theto Rho Honors Ball Team MERRILL Turkey dinner was served by the Merrill Alpha Omega Theta Rho girls club at the recent football banquet held in the Mer rill IOOF Hall. Dolores Conner, mistress of cer emonies, welcomed the football players and guests. Leroy Johnson, team captain, gave the response. The Rev. Father John Phelan gave the blessing and the Rev. George Milne the benediction. Talks were given by Ray Radcr, coach, followed by Harold Hendrick aon, principal; Maurice Fardue, assistant coach. A program was presented by Do lores and Donna Conner, Arlene and Mary Johnson, Carol Poe and Moreen Bredeen. Mr. and Mra. Warren Conner, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Jim Ralston, Herb Library' Club Members Stand,, To Applaud KUHS Musical Program Receiving a standing ovation for jofficcrs of the Library Club were Its presentation of a Fred Waring arrangement of "Jingle Bells" Uie KUHS varsity choir under the di rection of Andrew Loncy Jr., and the string orchestra directed by Don McKcnzle delighted members of the Library Club at the annual Christmas music program, Mon day, December 13. Introduced by Mrs. Don Zumwalt music chairman, the groups pre sented selections in keeping with the season. Soloists lor the pro gram were Jewell Shannon, violin ist, who played the Bach-Oounod 'Ave Maria" and Gail Nerscth who sang the beautiful "O Holy Night." Following the musical program, hostesses to members at tea. Mrs. Robert A. Thompson and Mrs. Fred Hoagland presided at the tea table which was beautifully decor ated by Mrs. A. Christmas Buffet Supper For OTI Faculty Members OTI Faculty members were, Mrs. Harald Pedersen was chair guests of the Faculty Wives' and man of the committee for the very Women's Club. Carl Stolpe and Grant Bailey were contest winners. At tree time, James Boyle, acting as Santa Claus, distributed actual and "dream" gifts. Names had been drawn previously and each doner wrote on a gift card what he would most like to give that person whose name he had drawn. There was everything from mink coats and world tours to 999 registrations for winter term for Mrs. Jack Gurell, registrar. Sturges, Mrs. Robert Smith, Mrs. A' Smith, Mrs. Charles Jacobi and Mrs. Dick Turner. Mrs. Anna Lahoda gave a very interesting report on the history and purpose of the ACWi . Pennies for friendship were collected at this time. Klamath County's quota is- not filled at present. Mrs. Scott also asked the members for - suggestions for a theme for the home makers fes tival, in the spring. -,. Mrs. Lois Evans displayed ar ticles of embossed metals and told how they were made. Mem bers interested in this project will have an opportunity to get fur ther instruction at a special meet ing to be held sometime in Jan uary. . , Mrs. Ann Saunders and Mrs. Violette Kunz will be leaders to attend the furniture reflmsniug workshop in Klamath Palls. Ten members were interested in the furniture refinishing. Mrs. Elsie Quinn, entertainment chairman, led the rtoud in sing ing Christmas carols accompan ied at the marimba by her daugh ter, Jean. Appropriate games were enjoyed and a gift exchange neia. Franklin were elected worthy matron and worthy oalron of Oriental Chapter No. S, Order of the Eastern Star, at . a regular chapter meeting. Decem ber 8, at the Lakeview IOOF Hail. Other officers elected to serve during the 1955 season are Mrs. Preston Johnson, associate ma tron; Deward Bell, associate pa tron; Mrs. Bernice MoUltt, secre tary; Mrs. Henry Bergslrom, treas urer; M;s.
