O'Neill, 1954 Port land Lucile O'Neill to her host of friends has given us permis sion to print her recipe for choco late chip meringue cookies. She uses an electric mixer and BUTTER BALLS Butter balls are an attractive way to serve butter. They are fun and easy to make adding a bit of glamour to this delectable dairy food. Make them with butter ball pad dles, dipping the paddles into a bowl of ice water before rolling the butter. This keeps the paddles cold so the butter won't cling to them. Cut the butter into serving sized pieces, place between the paddles and roll until properly shaped. NO STOCKINGS? If you have shed your stocking and are wearing those airy, bare foot sandals, be aure your legs are smooth and suntanned until they are tan, you can smooth lotion on your legs that makes them tan In a minute but does not retard the natural tanning process. Be sure your toenails are pedicured and gleaming with nail polish. TAMALEO BURGERS (Serves Six) To make crusty cornbread which Is part of this dish: 1U cups sifted flour . 1 tablespoon, double-action baking powder 1 teaspoon salt ',-'' i cup corn meal Y cup fat 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) 2-3 to cup milk Sift into a bowl the flour, bak ing powder and salt. Stir in the corn meal. Cut fat into the dry ingredients until the mixture is the consistence of small peas. Add cheese. Stir in milk. Turn onto waxed paper. Knead six times. Roll rough to a rectangular shape, 10x14 inches and i inch thick. Place on baking sheet. Then mix topping. 1 pound hamburger V2 cup chopped onion 1-3 cup chopped green pepper 1 can tomato paste 1-3 cup sliced stuffed olives 1-3 cup sliced ripe olives 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon salt Dash cayenne pepper !i cup shredded cheese Combine . all ingredients for hamburger topping except the cup cheese, in a shallow baking dish. Bake cornbread and hamburger mixture separately in hot oven (450 degrees) about 12 minutes, or until meat is thoroughly cooked and biscuit rectangle is slightly browned. Remove from oven. Spread hamburger mixture on sheet of baked cornbread. Sprinkle 'i cup cheese over the top and return . to oven for 2 minutes or until the cheese melts. Cut and serve hot.
