His wife and four children were watching as the handlebars of his machine came loose as be was speeding at 90 miles an hour around the Bay Meadows track in a trial run. He fell to the track and was hit by the following motorcycle. . Mrs. Moores said after the acci dent: "Ralph never bad any- luck here. He raced here the past two years and had trouble both times. He finally agreed to give up rac ing, and this was to have been his last race."
