SAN MATEO. Calif, in Balph
Moores, 33, of Bend Ore., wu
killed here Sunday In what his wife
said was to have bees his last
motorcycle race.
His wife and four children were
watching as the handlebars of his
machine came loose as be was
speeding at 90 miles an hour
around the Bay Meadows track in
a trial run.
He fell to the track and was hit
by the following motorcycle. .
Mrs. Moores said after the acci
dent: "Ralph never bad any- luck
here. He raced here the past two
years and had trouble both times.
He finally agreed to give up rac
ing, and this was to have been his
last race."

BERLIN, in Horst Deick took
on the roe of peacemaker In a
neighborhood quarrel and wound
up In Jail for his pains
The West Berlin police reported
Monday that Deick intervened in
an argument among three neigh
bors and all three turned on him.
In fear, he whipped out a pistol and
fired several shots In the air to
attract help. A police patrol ar
rived and arrested Deick for carry
ing a weapon without permission.

outcome of the presidential contest

According to the reports, the
