Eurlcy and Joe Earley Proprietors DARLENE WOLFF Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Jackson Jr., and son; Karleen and Sharon Para zoo, spent the 4th of July holiday at Hoopa, Calif., attending the Indian festival. Highlight of the entertainment was the native brush dance which started at 9 p.m. and continued in relay form until dawn. There were stick races, wrestling, timber events, boat races, social dancing and numerous other events Mr. and Mrs. Claude Parazoo, Bruce, Duane. and Mary Katherine made the trip over the holidays to visit with relatives in Reedsport. Along for the ride was a little baby duck who attracted tremendous in terest at every stop as he splashed in puddles, ate food from people's hands, and followed the Parazoos. The Parazoos reported one of the nicest features of the trip was get ting to drive their newly pur chased car. There was one sorrow- ful part, also. They attended the luneral of a cousin wno had been killed in an automobile crash. Expected from Seattle this week are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Iverson and daughters who will visit with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.- John Mannering. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Doty, Mrs. Ed Doty, Mrs. Ray Baldwin, Vance and Cheryl recently drove to Sweet Home where they attended the large church wedding of a lormer Chiloquin girl. Lorraine Grayblll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Grayblll, was married to Richard Bechtel. all of Sweet Home. Matron of honor for her sister was Mrs. Leonard Brewer. Mrs. Bechtel at tended the Chiloquin schools for several years and after her gradu ation from Sweet Home high school went Monmouth College of Educa tion. She teaches grade school and win teacn. tnis year about five miles from her home. Mrs. Bald win and her two children remained in Sweet Home for a week visiting before they returned to Chiloquin. Fourth of July at the Doty home was planned much differently than it actually turned out. What really happened was chicken pox. Both Keea David and tiny Harriet Jonn- son were the victims. So the only celebration was a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Norman Doty from Klam ath Falls and a visit with the Ray Baldwins, three of whose four chil dren also have chicken pox. Jack Jones went to Eugene over the holidays to attend a church youth rally and during his absence his wife and son went to Rogue River to visit her brother. Leo Larvie arrived from South Dakota last week and is staying nere witn nis cousin and ner nus band, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Para zoo. He had planned to sign up to ride in the Klamath Rodeo but ar rived too late to sign. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Parazoo and children, Shirley, Bonnie and Mike spent tne. holidays in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Sid Curtis recently drove to Vancouver, B. C, to take her daughter and four grandchil dren, Mrs. Jean Robertson and children on the first lap of their return to tneir home in Edmonton. Alberta. In Vancouver two other daughters of Mrs. Curtis met them and they have come to cmioquin for a visit. Mr. end Mrs. Harry Ravlzza left on Monday morning for Portland where he win have a checkup fol lowing the recent surgery he had in that city. During their absence Sally Is staying with an aunt and uncle In Algoma. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Warren, and the older two children are "holding the fort". Mr. and Mrs. Donald Potter and boys were among the Chiloquin people who drove to Bend for the 4th to attend the water pageant given annually in that city. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Albert were accompanied to their camp by their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fletcher. These two camps were on Buck Creek. The Wayne Niehaus family chose Long Creek as did Ted Markwardt. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Peters and children and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Peters and son of Klam ath Falls went to East Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Forest Freld had a cabin at Lake of the Woods but left their four youngsters at home with her sister, Nina Buck. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Layton Hoback and Kenneth are his sister, brother-in-law and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thornton and Irma. of Los Angeles. They arrived on the 4th In time to Join the Hobacks at' the Modoc Point home of the Les Hobacks. Over the weekend the group toured the Lava Beds for the first time. The Thorntons will be here approximately one week. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Gard drove to Sherwood, Ore., over the 4th to see their first grandchild who ar rived two weeks ago to Mr. and Mrs. Dick Gard. The young fellow weighed in at 8 pounds 142 ounces and has been named Randy Joe. When the Gards returned they brought their younger daughter Joy home. She has been picking straw berries in Sherwood and later vis iting her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald C.
