Patsy Ruth is a graduate of KUHS, class of '51 and at Ltondod OTI. She was publicity editor for that school until the close of the spring term. Her fiance was a graduate of OTI in November of '51, and is at present employed In Lakeviow. Patty has been known to the public nearly all her life at a vertatile entertainer; at accordionitt, pianist, and for hor readings, for which she has boen awarded trophies. Evergreen Garden Club Is at the piesent time making tentative plans for a specimen Iris bed at Winrd Park where named varieties of iris will be on display for the public. Inasmuch as no place ta prepared al this time for placing the Iris, Mrs. Alma Upptndahl haa ollcred the use of her garden for temporary planting, Mrs. Ray Garrison, Mrs. Joe Cox nnd Mrs. Clnrk Kesdall stave a re port on the State Convention of Gnrden Clubs of Oregon which they attended In Portland the early part of June. LOCAL MAN CLAIMS OSWEGO GIRL AS BRIDE IN PORTLAND CHURCH St. Stephens Episcopal Cathedral, Portland, was the scene of the wedding of Barbara Jones, Oswego, to J. Kelly Farris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Henry, 240 East Main Street. Dean O'Rlllion of the Episcopal Church, officiated at the service June 28, 2:30 p.m. The bride, who made her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Watson, Oswego, was given in marriage by her uncle Mr. P. L. Stanton, Pasadena. She was lovely in a dress of fine imported handmade French lace, fitted bodice styled with a low cut neckline and a small bertha collar softly falling over the shoulder. Yards and yards of the lace were gathered over two extremely full skirts, one of nylon and the other of taffeta. Her fingertip veil was held with a cap f the same- lace, trimmed with seed pearls. She wore lace above-the-elbow mitts and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley, stephanotis with white satin streamers, and centered with baby orchids. Lines or tne vaney, wnite gisdi the bridegroom: and ushers includ all law school classmates of Farris at the University of Oregon. Mrs. T. E. Watson wore a rose lace ankle length dress and her corsage was of deep wine baby orchids. Mrs. Henry, mother of the bride groom chose a dress of champagne lace and she wore a corsage of deep brown orchids. The reception was at Lake Os wego Country Club, where the large gathering of guests and relatives were received. Mrs. D. H. Bates. Mrs. Fred Wil bur, Mrs. A. J. Schleunlng and Mrs. Chris Kisky poured; Mrs. R. Rlsteigan cut the cake; and Mrs. Edward Reynolds, Catherine Led dingham, Libby Miller and Martha Stapleton assisted. For traveling, the bride wore a cinnamon brown and white tie silk suit, dark brown accessories, and a white rough weave English topper. The new Mrs. Farris ts a grad uate of Lincoln High School, Port land, and entered the University of Oregon in 1948. She was grad uated from there as a speech maj or this year. She is a member of Delta Gamma sorority. ' ' Farris Is completing his law stu dies at the U O. He was last year's president of Phi Alpha Del ta, honorary, and ts a memoer or Sigma Phi Epsllon. He attended KUHS, leaving there as a aopho more; was in th army until 1MT, when he successfully passed testa admitting him to the university. . from which he was graduated in 51. The couple will be at home in Eu gene. Their wedding trip was spent in San Francisco and Southern Ci ifornia. oil. white roses and greenery were used to decorate the church. . Organist waa A. Dennlson, who played Incidental wedding music. Maid of honor, Patricia Young, Oswego, wore a white embroidered organdy, ballerina skirt, white dutch cap and white linen shoes embroidered In red. The bridesmaids, sorority alsters of the bride, wore dresses exact ly aa the maid of honor, with the exception of their bouquets, which were fashioned of all red gladioli.
