II PACI 1 HERALD AND NEWS, KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON FRIDAY, MAY 28, I?t CHURCH NEWS Scientist Service Set Morning worship service at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, lOUi and Washington, will be held at 11 o'clock Sunday In the main church auditorium, with Sunday school at the same hour downstairs. Oolden Text ol this week's lesson sermon is, "He that overcometh shall Inherit all tilings; and I will be his God, and he shall be my aon," (Rev. 31:7). , Topic ot the lesson-sermon Is "Ancient and Modern Necromancy, Alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism, Denounced." Among citations will be, "And I heard as it were the voice ot a great multitude, and as the voice ot many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alle luia: for the Lord God omnipotent relgneth" (Rev. 19:6). From the 'Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, will be, "Christian Science reveals the necessity for overcom ing the world, the flesh, and evil, and thus destroying all error." A weekly meeting Is held at 8 p.m. Wednesday. All are welcome to ser vices. A reading room Is maintained at 1023 Main. Uhlig To Lead Songfest "Where The Sun Shall Never Go Down" is the organ number at First Christian church, for this Sunday. The pastor's message, "Man In The Moral Court Of History" is a ser mon for Memorial Day. The Lord's table will be observed at the 11 o'clock hour. Evening session will begin at 7:30 with Charles Uhlig leading the songfest. Special duet numbers with piano and organ, will be by Mrs. Lily Kendall and Ernest Arm strong. Stanley Kendall, teacher at Henley high will bring the message. Bible school starts at 9:45 a. m. with classes for all ages. Weekly average is more than 300, and all are Invited. Christian Endeavor at 6:30 and groups are held for Juniors, inter mediates and seniors. Lord's Supper Observance The worship service tills Sunday at the First Covenant church, 82J Walnut, will be followed by observ ance of the Lord's Supper. The pastor, Selmer T. Jacobson. will bring a message entitled, "Christ. Judged for the Sins of the World." A welcome is extended to all who confess Christ as Saviour to Join In this service which begins at 11 o'clock. Sunday school convenes at 10 a. m. and includes classes for all ages, including an adult Bible class. Capable teachers lead each age group In the study of Bible lessons Plans are In making for a daily vacation Bible school to be held at the First Covenant church beglnniiiK Ji ne 7 and continuing over June 18. Classes will be held for all children from 4 to IS years. All are welcome. Recruiter w New recruiter at the navy re cruiting station in the federal building Is John V. Marsh, l'8N. Marsh an.1 his family have Just returned from two years in Panama. Fraley To Give Sermon . Morning worship services will be held at the Tulelake Church of Christ (Christian) on Sunday morn ing at 11 o'clock. Communion will be observed for all Christians at that time. Norman Fraley will bring the morning sermon. Mrs Geanne Fraley will sing, "It Was Alone." All former members and friends of the Christian church or the Church of Christ are most cordially Invited to worship with those who will meet in the new building, across from the Tulelake high school ath letic field. Finishing of the building is now under way, but services will be held in the meantime. Evangelistic services will be held in the near future, with announcements regard ing the meeting to be made shortly. Hargrove To Conduct Services J. F. Hargrove will conduct the regular morning worship service at 11 o'clock Sunday at the Church of Christ, 2205 Wantland. Other services include Bible classes at 10 a. m., evening services at 7:30, and a regular weekly meeting at 7:30 p. m.. Wednesdavs. Everyone Is welcome. Marsh Joins Navy Staff John U. Marsh, ENC, USN, has reported to the navy recruiting sta tion in Klamath Falls for duty as recruiter. With him is his wife and their two children. He and his family have recently returned to the States from a two year tour of duty at the submarine base in Panama. During the war he served on board submarines and has several submarine war patrols to his credit, for which he has received the Navy Unit Citation and the Sub marine Combat Pin. In his IS years of service Marsh has served aboard destroyers, cruis ers and submarines in many parts of the world. 1st Presbyterian Slates Baptism The rite of Infant baptism will be administered at the morning service of the First Presbyterian church Sunday. "Christian Confidence" Is the topic chosen by Rev. David F. Barnett Jr.. for his sermon. The choir will sing the anthem. "The Promises." by Panchenko. Sarah Ann. will leave for Minneapolis, Minn., to attend the biennial con vention of the Lutheran church June to 13. Pastor Tweet will re turn to the Klamath Lutheran pul pit June 30. Charles Ogle To Take New Post Charles Csle, former Klamath Falls man, has been named man ager of a new group to be known as Associated Forest Industries ot Oregon. Ogle la at present manager of the Keep Oregon Green organisation, and will continue In that capacity until a successor la nuuird. Ills headquarters are at Halem, and the new association will also maintain head offices In Salem. This group marks the Joining of the pine and fir groups Into a single unit. Ogle'a work will deal princi pally with legislative matters con cerning the lumber Industry. Ogle was long mnnager and as sistant malinger ot the Klamath Forest Protective association. Ills brother, Hal, la now manager of KFPA. Immanuel Baptist Service Cancelled All Sunday evening services ex cept the young people's meeting at the Immanuel Baptist church have been cancelled for this week only. Kegular meetings will not be held because of the baccalaureate service for graduating seniors of Klamath Union high school. Other services will be held as usual, with Bible school at 9:45 a. m , and the worship service at II a. m. The young people will meet at 8:30 p. m.
