Ashland, Oerber and Klam ath Falls. A farewell gift with a card sisn ed by 126 of his co-workers In the company, was also presented to the retiring hostler at the party. Miss Kllen Knopp's first grade room look the room prize.. The nominating committee nub mlttct the nominees, all of whom were unanimously elected. They are, president, Mrs, Margaret Sher idan; vice president, Mrs. Audrey Baxter; second vice president, Mn. Ruth Lindsay: secretary, Mrs. Bertha Hole, and treasurer, Mist Jewel Howard. The PTA decided to pay the ex penses of our voting delcgntcs at the convention to be held the last week In April. These delegates will be the five officers and the program chair man. On April 15. at 10:30 a. m . the fifth grade of the Shasta school will present a program over KFJI. On April 22, the third grade rooms will present an Oregon history program at the same time, also over KFJI. Harold Ashley was the speaker at the meeting. He explained the dis tribution and the necessity of taxa tion. The Shasta Study club will meet April 7, at 1:30 p. m. In the teachers room at school. Mrs. Plsn back will present the topic at this meeting. These meetings have been very Interesting and Informative. Anyone who wishes to attend will be very welcome. It was agreed to postpone the meeting one week to May 5. After the meeting, refreshments were served in the cafeteria by the fourth grade room mothers. Mills The Mills PTA study group met with Mrs. R. B. Pepworth March 31. The executive board held its April meeting and the regular PTA meet ing was postponed from Wednesday. April 14. to Friday night, April 18. An Interesting program has been planned. There will be a baked food tale that night and fathers and visitors are most cordially Invited. Bend Mill Workers Vote For Union WASHINOTON, April 2 lW A majority of workers In the Bhevlln Hlxon and Brooks-Scanlon lumber operations at Bend have approved membership In the CIO Interna tional Woodworkers of America as a condition of employment, the na tional labor relations board reported today. The action authorizing the IWA to make such agreements with the companies was taken in separate elections, the NLRB reported. The bargaining units comprise produc tion and maintenance workers, with certain specified exemptions.
