Soroptimist Club Installs Officers The Pelican party room was the setting for the Installation luncheon of the Soroptimist club on Thursday. The Incoming i((iceri are president, Gertrude Moore; first vice president, Mur caret Wlicrlund; second vice president, Lillian HUH; recording secretary, Uola Parker; corresponding secretary, Ruth Hattan; treasurer, Suzanne Hamilton; directors, Kathleen Thompson, Ruth Adams and Sylvia McClelland. The retiring president, Kath leen Thompson, Installed the president, Gertrude Moore, and presented her with the beautiful Soroptimist emblem. After ad dressing tho group she turned the gavel over to Mrs. Moore. Catherine Brumbaugh then pte cnted the retiring president with the diamond gavel, Insig nia of the past president. Mrs. Thompson Is completing a very full and successful year In the history of the club, and he exurcssed her gratitude to committees and members who hail worked and cooperated with her in a brief talk. Tho remainder of the lunch eon hour was taken up with the reading messages from Soroptl inlsl.i In Holland who have been sent parcels by the local club. One particularly descriptive and interesting letter was read by Rita Whlsenant. It was from a family who had received some clothing and food, and told how enthusiastic they all were over the articles sent and that they were distributed to those need ing clothing and help, and men tioned how particularly happy they were to receive the friend ly notes that went with the' packages from American Sor optlmists. Alice Gnylord was a guest of the club at luncheon. Church Rites Evelyn Hulbert of Klamath Falls became the bride of Vin cent Kloxson of Chicago, III., Saturday, June 8, at 4 p. m. For her weddine the bride chose a iown of white satin with a net insert. Her veil was of fingertip length. Gardenias and white betrothal Mr. and Mrs. John R. David Barnett Jr. Miss Reber is a former stu dent of Malin high school and Armstrong Business college in Berkeley. .
