Marine Takes Bride On Sunday ' A lovely bride of Sunday, May 26, was Mary Ellen Wilson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson of Louisville, Kentucky, who exchanged vows with Sgt. Lloyd Edward Crum packer at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Crumpacker, 2169 Madison. The ceremony was read at 4 o'clock by the Rev. Hush T. Mitchelmore of Peace Memorial Presbyterian church in the presence of about 40 friends and relatives. The bride, given In marriage by Mr. Crumpacker, wore a beautiful white satin gown with a full skirt of white chif- fon which ended In a long train. I Her full length veil of illusion net was held by a crown of fresh flowers. She carried an arm sheath of pink roses. For something old and some thing borrowed, the bride wore Mrs. R. E. Morrison's veil, and something blue was a blue handkerchief loaned by an aunt of the groom, Mrs. M. R. Hou ser. Her something new was her gown. Laura Crumrine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Crum rine, was the bride's attendant and she wore a gown of ice blue jersey and carried a nose gay of sweet peas. The best man was B. D. Morrison and the flower girl was pretty little Judith Ann Morrison, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. R. E. Morrison. Ushers were Stanley Elsmore and Bob Morrison. Immediately after the cere mony the young couple cut their elaborately decorated wedding cake and serving were Mrs. S. T. Morrison, Mrs. George Con drey and Mrs. Stanley Elsmore who also presided at the punch bowl. Receiving with the cou ple was Mrs. Ivan Crumpacker who wore a fuchsia crepe after noon dress. Mr. and Mrs. Crumpacker will remain here during the month of June, and early in July they plan a trip which will take them to Seattle and other northern points. Sgt. Crum packer reports July 27, to Mc Allister, Oklahoma, navy am munition depot, and his bride will accompany him. The two met shortly after Sgt. Crum packer returned from service in the Pacific with the United States marines and this also included three years and six months in Japanese prison camps following the fall of Ba Uan. He will remain in the marine corps. The bride attended school in Louisville, including Presenta tion academy and lived in San Diego for several years. Degree Conferred Members of Kappa chapter. Beta Sigma Phi, met at the home of Mrs. Lorn Dalcour, 715 N. 3rd St., on Thursday eve ning. May 23, for their last reg ular meeting until September. During the evening, the ex emplar degree, highest degree of the sorority, was conferred on Mrs. Howard Pernell, Mrs. Norman Moty, Mrs. Everett Ballard, Mrs. Eldon Phair, Mrs. Arthur Moore, and Mrs. Lorn Dalcour. Mrs. Arthur Moore officiated during the beautiful ceremony, which was read from a ritual table centered with a bowl of yellow roses, the sor ority flower, and tall white tap ers. Mrs. William Milne presided during the business meeting at which time plans for the for mal dance to be held in June were discussed. Plans for a pic nic this summer were also told. Refreshments were served at the close of the evening to Lil lian Redkey, Barbara Nyhart, Mrs. William Milne, Mrs. Lloyd Drew, Mrs. Norman Moty, Phyllis White, Elenora Weath erford, Mrs. Arthur Moore, Mrs. Everett Ballard, Mrs. Ed Cha ron, Mrs. Eldon Phair, Lois Coady. Contract Club Meats Thursday Idoline Schupp entertained the Thursday Contract club with dessert at her home, 530 N. 10th, on May 28.' May 27, at 8 o'clock, Azita Kennedy, grand regent, presided over the meet ing, and the Rev. Father Ray mond Beard gave the opening prayer, which was followed by the salute to the flag and the opening ode. Mildred Smith acted as installing officer and was assisted by Ann Fiela, a former monitor of the court who has returned from Califor nia. Elizabeth Brandsness was program chairman, and present ed Cecile Vandenberg in a tap dance, Susan Gans in a reading and Elaine Abbott who played the accompaniment for Geral dine McGinnis' vocal solo. Committees appointed to serve for the coming year are program, Ann Fiela, assisted by Rose Igl; convert league, Mil dred Smith; Sick and gift com mittee, Martha Lavenik, Jen netta Albee, Kathryn Lorenz: publicity, Emilie Miller: social committee, Nora Manning, Helen Egan, Carrie Joans, Louise Vaughn, Florence Pick ett; sewing committee, war re lief work, Phillis Mahoney; chairman in charge of sending boxes each month to three French orphans adopted by the court, Elizabeth Brandsness: and legislative committee, Agnes La Londe, who gave some infor mation as to packing the boxes sent to the French orphans. Grand Regent Ellen Ely ex pressed her appreciation of the honor conferred upon her by her election to the office of grand regent, and Azita Ken nedy, past grand regent, thanked her officers for their cooperation during her term of office. She was presented with a past grand officers' pin. Cor sages were presented to all offi cers, and the Rev. Beard then led the closing prayer. Jenes Moty and Emilie Miller were cochairmen of the refresh ment committee for the eve ning, and others on the commit tee were Thelma McEnerney, Elizabeth Brandsness, Anne Mc Donald. Past Grand Regent Azita Ken nedy and Grand Regent Ellen Ely presided at the tea table, and over fifty guests were served. Initiation The Omega chapter of Hori zon Girls was established in Dorris, Tuesday, May 28, at the home of the club's adviser, Mrs. A. O. Christianson. The seven girls who had successfully completed the pledge period were initiated in the presence of Mrs. C. E. Mot schenbacher, Mrs. Carl Hayes, Mrs. R. E. Jones, and Mrs. D. R. Grace who are members of the Womens' club, sponsors for the group. At the completion of the in itiation the girls were present ed with their pins and program books by Ethyl Bremer, Camp Fire executive secretary, and Mrs. Christianson in a program based on the ideals and ambi tions which are fundamental in Horizon clubs, senior organi zation of Camp Fire Girls. Charter members of the group are Mary Bona, Geraldine Conklin, Eleanor Bay, Willa Buxton, Frances Green, Nellie Smith and lone Wise. Party Held Monday Evening Twenty-five members and friends attended the apron and slacks party of the Neighbors of Woodcraft held Monday eve ning, May 27, in the KC hall after a short business meeting. Several games were played, and awards given to the success ful contestants. Refreshments were served by Vera Reeves, Willan Floetke, Sylvia Bran nan. Sylvia Clayton, and Leola Thompson. Mrs. Mike Petroff, also a member of the class, recently returned from Mexico. She re turned through the interior rather than following the high way route, and had many inter esting encounters with the Mex ican people. At the end Of the program, William B. Yates, representing me spanisn class, presented the teacher, Lucile Tweed, with a Lakeview Scene Of Installation Eight members of the Klamath Falls Soroptimist club motored to Lakeview this week to meet with the Lakeview club for in stallation of officers of the Lake view club. Visiting Soroptimists were President Kathleen Thomp son, Lillian Hillis, Clara Shaw, Ruth Adams, Gertrude Moore, Lorraine Johnson and Izola Parker. Anne Sprague, retiring presi dent, and her committee, were at the hotel early to meet the guests. Dinner was served at the Lakeview hotel at 6:30 o'clock. A beautiful corsage was given to each of the guests and members. The tables were attractively dec orated with iris and chrome fig urines. A delightful program was arranged and Clara Shaw won the high point score prize for a game of wits, and Izola Parker won the house prize. Powell were honor guests at a baby shower Friday afternoon, May 24, when Mrs. F. H. Armstrong entertained at her home. Pink predominated In the color scheme, with a decorated baty buggy in which gifts were placed. Tiny bassinette favors were given to each guest. A miniature clothes line strung on flowered poles was placed on the mantel, and the serving table was decorated with sweet peas and pink snapdragons, with pink tapers in crystal holders. Mrs. James Dixon and Mrs. C. A. Smith received awards in games. Refreshments were served to Mrs. Kendall, Mrs. Powell, Mrs. John B.
