Senior Circle The senior circle of the Com runity Congregational church met Friday, August 18, at the home of the president, Mary Eckstein at 2234 Garden, with Mrs. E. G. Matthews assisting. The devotional service and the day's lesson were given by Mrs. H. S. Stone, the subject of the lesson being ""1110 Widow and Her Two Mites." Plans were made for the rum mage sale to be held Saturday, August 26, by the junior and senior circles, and also for a picnic of both circles to be held in Moore park on September 3. Refreshments were served to Mrs. B. Morgan. Miss Augusta Eckstein, Mrs. M. Dexter, Mrs. H. C. Brown, Mrs. Glenn Stiv ers, Mrs. W. O. Lohrey, Mrs. H. S. Stone, Mrs. J, E. Marin, Mrs. E. L. Mitchell, Mrs. Wil liam Larson, Mrs. F. L. Van Doozer, Mrs. R. E. Elliot, Mrs. W. C. Little and the hostesses, Miss Mary Eckstein and Mrs. Matthews. Stingerettes The Stingeivtte social club held its regular monthly meet ing and potluck picnic in Moore park Wednesday, August 23, and in the absence of the president, Mrs. Paul Home, conducted the short business meeting. Attending were Mrs. Paul Jones, Mrs. V. C. Phillips, Mrs. Nate Gale and son, Mrs. Jack Chapman and son, Mrs. Paul Home and two daughters, Mrs. Annie Brown, Mrs. Emory Stockdale, daughter and son, Mrs. Homer Caldwell and son, and Mrs. A. A. Myers. Mrs. Gale and Mrs. Myers were the host esses for the day. The next meet ing will be with Mrs. Emorv Stockdale, 1530 Wiard, and the assisting hostess will be Mrs. Paul Home. - . .... Kenncll-bllis Woodcraft A regular meeting of the Neighbors of Woodcraft was held Monday evening, August 21, in the IOOF hall with Alta Clark, guardian neighbor, presiding. One new member, Jeanne Law rence, was initiated into the or ganization, and following the meeting games, group singing and a potluck supper were en joyed, with Stella Dryden and Susie Smith the committee in charge. Mildred Smith and I Willnn Flnotkp will sprvi nt th next meeting, the dute to be an nounced later. 8 ' The Women of the Moose met in regular session Friday evening, August 18, in the Moose hall. The meeting was called to order by the senior regent, Frances Waits and the roll call of officers showed all present. Initiation was held and six new members were taken into the chapter. Re freshments wore served follow ing the business meeting and lodge then adjourned until Sep tember 1. . Social Calendar Monday, Auguit at Executive board of Business and Professional Women to moot lit 7:30 at homo of Elenora Wen therford, 1238 East street. All members asked to attend to get plans underway for start of full meetings. Thcta Rho girls will hold a regular meeting at tha IOOK hull. The Navy Officer's Wives club is having an old-fashioned box supper at 8:30 at Moore park. A prize will be awarded for tho most attractive box. Friday. Stpttmbtr 1 Eastern Star Social club to meet at Masonic temple, 1:45 p. m. Mrs. Will Wood and Mrs. Hiram, Murdoch to preside as hostesses. Thursday, Stpttmbar 7 First meeting of club for wives of officers connected with tho Marino Barracks at 1 o'clock at bachelor officers quarters at tho Barracks. Monday, Sptmbr 11 The first mooting of tha Klam ath Falls Woman's Library club will be a luncheon at tho Wil lard hotel at 1 p. m. September 16 The AAUW will sponsor a silver tea at the home of Mrs. K. A. Moore, 2045 Lcroy. , Committee Meets The Home-making committee of the Women of tho Moose met at the Mooso hall Friday, August 18, for a potluck luncheon and business meeting, with chairman Maude Scrgcnt In charge. Eigh teen members were present. The card party sponsored by the Women of the Moose that same afternoon at 2 p. m. had seven tables in play.
