Jean Blake of Chiloquin, to Miss Joan Christie, daughter of Mr. and Mm. Ilul Christie of Dallas, Toxas. The ceremony was read In Saint Cecelia' chapel, Mission Inn, at River aide, California, on May the thirtieth. Lieutenant Blake Is now stationed at Camp Haan, Cali fornia, and the couple. I now at home In Arlington. The bride was given In marriage by her father and was gowned In whlto lace over satin with long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. She carried a shower bouquet of gardenias with un orchid center. Mrs. Chrlstio wore a blue silk print with blue ac cessories and the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Blake, wore dark blue sheer with white accessories. Both had gar denia corsages. The bride attended College of Mines at El Paso and the bridegroom Is a graduate of Oregon State college where he majored in forestry. He Is affiliated with the Masonic lodge. MERRY MIXERS MEET AT THE ANDERSON HOME Ruth Anderson was hostess to the Merry Mixers' at her home on the Algoma highway Thursday evening, June the seventeenth. The membera attending were Jo Paup, Dee Salyer, Ruth Lawrence, Mil dred Robinson, Eleanor. Curtis Billee Snider, Louise Cramb lett, the hostess, and three guests, Mrs. Slcely, Mrs. Red head and Mrs. Gillette. Tripoli was played during the evening, with high score held by Billee Snider and low by Ruth Lawrence. A gift was sent from the group to June Collins, a former member, who has moved to Patterson, California. Women Golfers To Play Finals Mrs. Charles Rugh and Mrs. Peter Albertson to Play in First Flight on Friday Afternoon Women golfers at Rcamcs Golf and Country club will play the finals in the Lamm tournament, and also the finals In the first flight, this coming Friday, it was announced at the clubhouse at the regular gathering yesterday. Due to the inclement weather which prevailed during the early Friday morning hours, little golf was played, but later the weather cleared Bnd a number were on the course. Mm. Charles V. Rugh and Mrs. Peter A. Albertson will ploy the finals in the first flight. Those who did not play in the semi-finals In the Lamm tournament this week will have until next Wednesday to do so. Mrs. Guy Harmon and Mrs. Morgan Johnson were hos tesses for the day Friday. The luncheon tables wore attrac tive with bowls of Iris. Sev eral tables of bridge were in play later in the afternoon. Baileys Honored On Anniversary Fifty-fourth" Wedding Celebration Remembered At Party Given by Club in Malin MALIN Mrs. John Bailey was delightfully honored by member of the Helping Hand society Wednesday, June six teenth, on her fifty-fourth wedding anniversary. The all day affair with luncheon at noon was held at the home of Mr. Earl McVey. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey were married at Whitesville, N. Y., moving Inter to Pennsylvania. Thirty-five years ago they came to the Klamath basin, taking up a homestead north of Malin, living in the same vicinity during their residence here. Mrs. Bniley has been a member of the Helping Hand for tmany years, missing- few : , meetings. The buffet luncheon table was centered with a large wedding cake garlanded in pink roses and green leaves. The guest of honor was pre sented with a bouquet of flowers. During the business meet ing Mrs. Jack Ratliff was elected president, Mrs. Clar enco Hundley vice president and Mrs. Dick Henzel secretary-treasurer. Baumgardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Baumgard ner of Klamath Falls was mar ried on May the twelfth to Miss Feme Park, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Park of Crete, Nebraska. The ceremony took place at eleven o'clock at the Metho dist parsonage in Crete with the Reverend G. A. Moon of ficiating. The bride wore a dusty rose frock with a corsage of gar denias and lilies of the valley. After a short honeymoon, the couple are at home in Ar kansas City, Kansas. Sergeant Baumgardner is an instructor in night flying at Strother field in Wlnfield, Kansas. MRS. FULLER ENTERTAINS PINOCHLE CLUB Mrs. Walter Fuller enter tained the Lucky Thursday pinochle club at her home, 2252 Vine avenue, on June the seventeenth. Luncheon was served at one o'clock to Fan nie Goddard, Agnaee Lowe, Mary Martin, Katheryn Bil lings, Ruth Sehorn, Florence Young, Estclle Smith, Vera Good, Mettle Good, Maude Phillips, Zella Blankenship, and the hostess, Rita Fuller. Pinochle followed, high score being held by Rita Ful ler, second by Maude Phil lips, low by Kathryn Billings and the pinochle went to Ruth Sehorn. Sherfy of Ashland will take place this weekend, was com plimented with a miscellane ous shower given at the home of Mm. D. P, McGillivary on Wednesday evening. Miss Sul inka has made her home her for the past two years with her sister, Mrs. H. A. Wheel er of 4678 South Sixth street. Cadet Sherfy is the son of Mr. W. E. Sherfy Sr., also of Ashland. At the present time the young flyer is stationed at Vlsalia, California, at the Visalia air field. He will re ceive his wings within a short time. The bride-elect Is the daughter of Mr. L. P. Smith, Mrs. Ellis Jaquette and Mrs. Roy Premo entertained at the Premo home on Owens street. Cards were enjoyed with awards going to Mrs. Donald Veatch and Mrs. Ray Ruger. Miss Howard left Friday ev ening for San Francisco where she will visit a short time with former classmates be fore returning east where she is affiliated with the Woman's Medical College hospital in Philadelphia. She ha spent the past two weeks here as the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Merit E. Smith and other friends. Numerous informal affairs were given for Mis Howard during her stay. Townsend Club Meets Wednesday The Townsend club met at the home of Daisy Douglas on Wednesday, June the six teenth. The next meeting will be at the home of Vera Thex ton on June the thirtieth. Those present were Sarah Carney, Vera Thexton, Ethel Ford, Delia Fariold, Jngaborg Wilkerson, Jerry - Borgein, Charlotte Canay, Adah Lar son, Betty Allen, Esther Mast, Eva Myers, Mabl McWith ey, Matilda Crapo and the hostess, Daisy Douglas. Donna is the mascot for the Oregon Women's Ambulance Corp and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ruger, 408 Owens street. She is the niece of Mr. Ray Ruger, esteemed leading knight of BPOE which presented the ambulance to the OWAC. Kathleen Livingston CASCADE CREST REPRESENTED AT STATE MEETING Mrs. Walter Brown, grand representative of the grand chapter of Oregon, Order of Eastern Star, and Mrs. Jame Parsley of Chiloquin, worthy matron of Cascade Crest chap ter, OES, left last Sunday for Portland where they attended the fifty-fourth session of grand chapter. Mrs. William Zumbrum, as sociate conductress, and Mr. and Mrs. Ermel Hosley, asso ciate matron and associate pa- , tron of the chapter at Chilo quin, attended some of the sessions during the week. Mrs. Brown returned Thurs day evening to her home on Pacific Terrace but Mrs. Pars ley remained in the northern city for a few day as the guest of her brother, Dr. Ray mond Leroy. . Reports of the state meet ing will be given at the first meeting of Cascade Crest chapter in September. AUXILIARY MEETS ' IN KC HALL ON THURSDAY The ladies' auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen met in the KC hall Thursday, June the tenth, at eight o'clock for its regu lar meeting. There was no in itiation, but following the business meeting an enter tainment was given, with Fay Myers the chairman. The fea ture of the evening was a play, "Schooldays" with Mable Roman as an old-time, old maid school-ma'am and the pupils were Nellie Sack ett, Freda Newman, Fay Myers, Edrie Caldwell, Lor etta Pex, Eileen Stibert, Nell Messer, and Martha Roman. Refreshments were served later to about twenty-five members and one visitor, Mrs, Lillian Thomas of Los An geles. Brovn Store 633 Main Reames Summer Party Planned First of Affairs Planned for Reames Members and Guests for Saturday Evening The first of the summer parties planned by Reames Golf and Country club at the clubhouse south of town is scheduled for Saturday evening, June the twenty-sixth, it was announced this week. The party will be an informal one, with the cock tail hour scheduled for half past seven o'clock followed by dinner and dancing at eight o'clock. Chairmen of the affair are Mr. and Mrs. Martin Swanson, and they will be assisted by Mr. and Mra. Ted Medford, Dr. and Mrs. J. Hardin Carter and Dr. and Mrs. Charles V. Rugh. The cabaret idea will be used at the dinner dance, with small tables placed about the REBEKAHS MEET . AT REGULAR . They have been guests at the Robert Zim merman home on Donald street. Mrs. Porter will leave Monday for her home, in Pasco, Washington, planning to visit in Portland and in Seattle en route north. In Seattle she will visit her mother, Mrs. Lynn Zimmer man. The Porter spent the winter in Utah. Mrs. A. N.
