As ho tel atmosphere waa e.-sential. the setting could not be built at the studio and sound cameras, truck, lights, etc., were shipped to one of the largest California resort hotels. Here the work ot film ing the scene was held up inas much as the hotel was unable to grant Metro - Goldwyn - Mayer a monopoly ot the elevtor which waa needed for the transporta tion ot foods and other articles to upper floors. Consequently Just about the time when mea ner was ready to shoot the ele vator scene it would be required by the hotel and Miss Dressier and Miss Moran would have to move out. All told.
