A break from the Polk county Jail was frus- rated about 3 o'clock this mornhig when City Marshal Chase surprised Earl Cullen, after be had battered a hole thrjug'h the brick ' wall and was about to crawl out. Cullen had hidden under a cot downstairs when the other prisoners were locked in their cells by Marshal Chase. As soon as the Marshal left on nil rounds, Cullen emerged from biding and began on the back wall of the Jail.
