Program and Ham Dinner Most Successful Event Staged for Years Date Changed for Woman's Club Meet Santiam Rebekahs Hold Nomination Meeting at Hall A short business meeting of Santiam Rebekah lodge mem bers was held Wednesday even ing with Mrs Agnes Carlson acting as noble grand. Plans were completed for the visit of the president of the Rebekah Assembly who was coming the next evening. Second nominations of officers for the ensuing year were made with election to be held Novem ber 18. Nominated for Noble Grand was Mrs. Ada Plymale; vice grand, Mrs. Faustina Nesbitt; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Ruth Hess; financial secretary. Mrs. Blanche Syverson, and treasurer, Miss Daisy Geddes, Mrs. Carlson who had been nominated at a previous meet- ing for noble grand to serve again, declined the nomination. Refreshments were served following drill practice by Mrs Ruth Kerr, Mrs. Clara Morris and Mrs. Ida Fleetwood. The November 17 meeting of the Mill City Woman’s club has been changed to Not ember 24, according to Mrs. Don Paul, president Mr. Paul was to show slides of their recent European trip but will be unable to do so because of conflicting engage | ments. They will be shown at a later date. Mrs. Paul states it is neces sary to have a business meet ing, particularly on club financ I 1 es. This meeting will be held November 24 at her home at 7:30 p. m. Thursay, Nov. 12, 1959 Mill City Garden Club To Hold Christmas Party The Mill City Garden club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. Herbert Schroeder, with Mrs. J. C. Kimmel as co-hostess. Fol lowing the dessert luncheon. Mrs. Han ey Tolbert presided at the business meeting. The group chose December 10 as the date for their annual Christmas par ty, which will be held at the home of Mrs. Curtis Cline, with Mrs. Harvey Tolbert and Mrs. Adolph Brunner as co-hostesses. Members are to bring a gift to be sent to the Turner Memorial Home and also a gift for the member’s gift exchange. The members were reminded to call the hostess before each meeting if they find they can not attend. Following the business meet ing a demonstration on Thanks giving arrangements followed by the showing of colored slides of flowers and scenic places of interest to the group. Present were Mmes.
