The American Legion and Auxiliary gave their annual treat after the com pletion of the movies. After the serving of dainty refresh ments by Mrs. Doughty, pinochle play proved Mrs. Bertha Vanderhoff to be the day’s first prize winner with Mrs. Mabie Quarles second prize taker. Mrs. Marcella Peterson came up with a surprise pinochle and thus took the traveling pinochle prize. Idanha Mercantile Mr. and Mrs. Ted Gillespie Gates—Mrs. Albert Millsap opened her home to members of the Gates Womans club, Wednesday last week for the club’s annual Christmas party. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. W. R. Hutcheson, Mrs. Harry Keiser and Mrs. Norman Garrison, who due to ill ness was not able to be present. Entertainment for the evening was arranged by Mrs. Elmer Stewart, Mrs. Gwen Schaer and Mrs. Clarence John son. The evening’s festivities were opened by the singing of Christmas carols, with Mrs. Don Miley at the piano, Mrs. Glenn Gordon gave a vocal solo, Mrs. Elmer Stewart a Christmas reading. Mrs. George Clise played several numbers on her accordian.
