Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Knox of Lyons were visitors at the Bill Bickett home Saturday n-ight. They have just re turned from a trip to California, hav ing been gone stnee a week before Christmas. They are former residents of Elkhorn. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Beuuford Flatman, Mill City, died early Monday morning as the result of accidental strangulation. .Funeral services were held in the Weddle parlors in Stayton, with Dr. David J. Ferguson officiating. Sur vivors are. besides his parents, the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Flatman. Marion Forks By MRS. SCOTT YOUNG The recent snowfall in the past two days has b) ought the level reading to 4.2 feet. A survey of the water content showed 30 inches of water to 100 inches of snow. The highest known record is 18 inches in 100. It looks like we might have high water n the spring, but we hope “No.” Ice skating has been enjoyed in the Carvon by many. Miss Mary Impson, a local teacher, has returned after spending the hol iday vacation with friends and rela tives in Oklahoma. Fisher and Joe Wiight at Memorial Hospital in Salem last week. Gayle Fagan also was a caller. Roy Newport of Culver, Ore , was a business caller in Detroit. The two Gilpin houses are nearing completion after the big wind blow of Dec. 11 which ended so tragically for a young couple, The smallai house was literally demolished by the falling of a tree. , Gale Dorothy of Mill City was a week end visitor in Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fowler and baiby «laughter of Chiloquin and Mrs. J. C. Fowler off Portland iweie here for the holidays. Mrs. Fowler left here Nov. 1 for Portland where she is employed as a nurse to Albert Seit zinger who has been in ill health for some time. The elderly Seitzinger is making h-is home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Seitzinger of Portland. Claudine Fry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Fry, who was stricken with polio the early ipart of Decem ber, returned last week from Dom- becker Hospital in Portland.
