On eake of Baker a chocolate, one cop of tweet milk, one cap of molaseee, ooe pound of white sugar, a piece of butter the size of an egg; season wltb vanilla to taste half a teaspoonfal will probably suffice. Have a cake of chocolate in a small tin pan, set it in boiling water and let it dissolve. Then take the tails and roll in tbe melted chocolate, lift tbem out with a fork and lay them oo tbe waxed paper to harden. Mint Creams. Mint creams are thought to aid digestion, and are frequently served at dinners when tbe finger bowls ate brought In. Ibey may easily be made at borne. English Walnuts. -Take tbe half nuts carefully from tbe shells, In or det not to break them ; make cream candy according to the directions given above for the chocolate creams, and press half a nut on eaob side of tbe balls of candy while tbey are toft, pressing to aa to flatten tbe cream. Tbe Cream tor Candies. A simple rale for tbe cream wbioh ia tbe foun dation of most French candles it at follows: Boil two pounds of granulated augar and a cop of water in an agate ware sauoepan. Then it may be cat into different parts. colored into pale green or pink oi brown, and made Into dainty oontec- tions with walnuts, almonds and pis- taobios, and obopped flgs and dates. Tiny moulds ot various shapes tor forming candies may be purchased of downtown dealers in confectioners' supplies, aod bonbons cooled In these moulds are most dainty looking. Peanut Candy. Homemade peanut candy might well be labeled "sore to please." Shell one quart of peanuts; skin and roll fine. This should make just a ooflee oapful of granulated sugar into candy. Set oo a bot Are and stir constantly until It melts, remembering that it must melt quickly to be a success. Meantime, put tbe peanuts in the oven to beat, and have tbe pant bat tered and plsoed on tbe back of tbe range, where Ibey will be bot. As toon as tbe sugar is melted poor tbe hot peanuts in it, take dlreotly from tbe Are and pour it Into tbe bot, but tered pans. Tbe candy when cold can be broken into pieces and should be tbin, orisp and shiny. When nailing into bardwood, tbe nails are ant to bend.
