This dew adult movement, wbioh Is RweepiuR the Sunday school worll, la a plau of organized classes. The ad vantages of o'ass organization are nirny. Mr. Phipps said to part: "When biihluess meu organize aud go alter hiiianetia, they are sure to win. It is not uu acoideut that ciaotloally all the laige, successful classes of the country are organized. The organized clans becomes 'our class, not the teauhtt's class.' lu the unorganized class if the teacher is removed the class lulfers greatly and sometimes dlstutids, the organized olasi will get anotln teacher. Organization in crease the class spirit. In anion there is stiengtb. Ibe weakness of one is supplemented by the strength of suuthnr. It becomes a foroe of woili, not merely a field for w irk. The organized class of nun and the organized class of wo men fc a the magnets that will attract to the Sunday school service tbe boys and girls, ibe organized class is a dam across the Sunday sohool stream that holds tbe boys and girls to tbe Siindny school at a time when they are fo easily lost from Its membei bhip. Ibe Bible class has given to man young men and women tbeir Uret impulse to lead cnimlan lives and to do personal work. One of tbe first tequialtea is a, place for thum, they get them and after tbe members get them, give them something. The failure aud ludltterence conneoted with some pupils' attendance can sometimes be overcome by adopting the Smith plan, viz: Appointing seven memlmrs ot tne class to go after tbe absent one. One to be appointed tor each day, aud have each member Im press upon tbeir friend the advant ages aud benefits of tbeir class. The pupil will nearly always respond. "The neoo slul orgauized class In Elgin, Hi., taught by Uavid J. Cook, was oited as an example ot the program ORiried out. A d cusaion then followed, In which Rev. W. A. Wood, ot the Christian church, gave a few able remarks. Mr. Polling, of Ibe Dalles, made few good points and Mrs. Sigby spoke brlelly on tbe "Art of J caching.'' Dr. Parker, ot Hood River, was tbe last onn to discuss tbe topic and his remarks showed a careful study of -j ;- the subject. Tbe list of the delegates was lead . and also the names of tbe homes where they were to be entertained. After plowing song, hev. Nutley, ot Hood liiver, pronounced the benedlotion. The evening session was opened at' 7:30 with a splendid song servioe con ducted by Prof. Grouse Messrs. Parker, Haoua and Poling each gave a short prayer, followed by another soug, aud Seoietary Ollhouse then read tbe roll call of tbe Sunday schools in the county, wbioh make a total ot 33, with a membership ot 2, 840. i'be committee ou nomination tor tbe election ot officers for tbe ensuing year was then appointed, as follows: Butleigh Cash, of Hood River; Mrs. Weber, of Tbe Dalles; Mr. Hill, of Dufur. At 8:30 Rev. C. A. Pbippa deliver ed oao ot the 11 nest addresses ever hoard in Hood River on "The Call, the Work, tbe Wages." The Sunday school is eelliiib iu not living up to its oppottuuities. Ihe wise teacher knows the pupil and that to be a teacher is not all play but work, eight ilars iu the week, as one wise man has said. Tbe universal plan that many teuchers have adopted of not pieparing their lessons thoroughly at borne la a poor one. Ibe bent teaobnr begins the study of bis lesson on bis kneea Momlay morning aud then earnestly pursues it every day ot tbe week until Sunday when he can go before hia olaes without bis helps.
