(UPI) Two American Soldiers Guilty In Barracks Death EVftEUX, France (UPI)-A U.S. Army court martial today found two Negro American sol diers guilty of the unpremedi tated murder of a white U.S. airman in a barracks brawl hero Sept. 6. A third defendant a while soldier was convicted of the lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter in the same case. The court then retired to con sider sentences in the case arising from the death of Air man 1C. Robert Padgett, 23, Woodlawn, Va., who died in a hospital shortly alter the fight. The two Negro defendants are Pvt. Richard L. Parker Jr.. Eckman, W. Va., and Ptc. Ed ward Spears, New York. They faced a maximum penally of life imprisonment.
