Short-Hyle Ceremony Announced COVE Miss M e a Hyle and William H. Wears White Suit For her wedding the bride chose a white wool suit with white picture hat and her flow ers were pink and white carna tions. Miss Sheryle DeHaven, White City, the bride's only attendant, wore a chrysanthemum yellow wool suit. Her bouquet was of " amall white chrysanthemums. Larry DeHaven, also White City, served as best man. About 60 guests were at the reception held in the Short home following the ceremony and given by the bridegroom's parents. Mrs. Donald DeHaven cut tne wedding cake and Miss Judy DeHaven served. The bridegroom's mother wore a sheath beige colored dress. The bridegroom, who entered the Army soon after gradua tion is stationed for the present at Ft. Benning, Ga., with the Army Airborne Division. Both the newlyweds are graduates of Eagle Point High school. In California The couple traveled to Los Angeles where they visited the bride's parents and where the bride remained. She plans to be there until the bridegroom's leave during the Christmas season, when she will join him to live at his' next station in Kentucky. The bride's mother was hos pitalized at the time of the wed ding rites and her death oc curred soon after. FOE Auxiliary Head To Visit Mrs. Mabel Thomas, stale president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles auxiliary, will be hon ored at a dinner Thursday, No vember 14 in the Eagles hall, when women of the Crater Lake aerie auxiliary will entertain. The state officer will make an official visit to the group following the dinner. Members are to take salads. Coffee and cake will be served In the auxiliary hall after the meeting. Hoag, 357 Havana Street, is attending U.S. Navy Submarine School. The couple was married Oc tober 27 at the Trinity Metho dsit Church in Salem. The bride is the foraier Beverly Ann Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Gardner, Salem. The Rev. R. Park Anderson of ficiated at the 4 o'clock after noon rites. The bride is a graduate In home economics and music of Oregon State University. En sign Hoag, also a graduate of the school, majored in civil en gineering. Later he attended the U. S. Navy Nuclear Power School, Vallejo, Calif., and com pleted nuclear reactor training prior to his. assignment in Con necticut. Wears Taffeta The bride, given In marriage by her father, wore a white gown of taffeta peau de soie fashioned with fitted bodice, bateau neckline,' and pleated skirt which formed a chapel train. The bodice midriff was accented with Alencon lace and crystal beading and her veil of silk illusion was elbow length. It was held by a lace crown trimmed with crystal beads and pearl drops. She carried a bou quet of yellow roses, stephano tis, and a white orchid. Miss Kathie Gardner, Salem, you find the clothes you love to live in. PHONE 772-8992 V was honor attendant for her sis. ter. Other attendants were Miss Karen Crook, Carlton, Ore., and Mrs. Donald Wrieht. Portland. They wore gold peau de soie sat in dresses with matching satin ana tune neaaaresses. Their flowers were bronze chrvsan. themums. Robert Hoag, Medford. served as best man for his b r o t n e r. Ushers were Alan and Larrv Gardner, Salem, brothers of the bride: Steven Underwood. Cor- vallis, and Herbert Wheeler, Medford. Gold and bronze chrysanthe mums decorated the church. Mrs. David Rhoten, Salem, was soloist, and was accompanied by Mrs. Jesse Jones Jr., Sa lem, who was organist. for her daughters wedding and reception which followed at the church, Mrs. Gardner wore a rust colored dress with match ing accessories. Mrs. Hoag chose a beige wool dress with rust accessories. Their cor sages were orchids. At the reception Mrs. J. N. Brinkley and Miss Blanche Baumgartner, aunts of the bride, cut and served the wed- inp cake. Mrs. Edith Whillock, Medford, grandmother of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Fred Un derwood, Medford, poured. As sisting were Miss Rosalee Can. non, Miss Eloise Weissart, Miss Barbara Norte, Miss Joan Gard ner, Miss Evelyn Higgins and Miss Karen Wood. For traveling to Connecticut by car, the bride wore a royal blue wool sheath dress and jack et with ' Cerulean mink collar and gray patent leather. Her corsage was a white orchid. While at Oregon State Uni versity the bride was affiliated with Alpha Omicron Pi social sorority and the bridegroom with Phi Kappa Tau social fra ternity. Among the out of town guests attending from Medford were Mr. and Mrs. Hoag, the bride groom's parents, and Mr. Un derwood. Ceremony Takes Place Mrs. Ethel M. Luman, 109 Tripp Street, and Donald G. Barnett,. 21 Genessee Street, were married November 1 in an 8 o'clock evening ceremony. Judge L. L. Sawyer, district court judge, performed the rites in Jackson County Court house. Attending the couple were Mrs. Albert Bates, and Richard Isaacs, Ashland. For her marriage the bride wore an aqua blue wool frock with white accessories. Her corsage was an orchid. Mrs. Bates was dressed in a beige suit and her accessories were black. She wore a pink carnation corsage. The wedding supper was serv ed at Kim's Restaurant. . The couple is living at 11 Almond Street. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Chord, 205 Cot tage Street. She attended Med ford High School and is em ployed as a secretary for New York Life Insurance Company. The bridegroom studied at William and Mary College, Wil liamsburg, Va. He is a news caster for KBES-TV, Channel 5. Mistletoe Club Luncheon Planned A covered dish luncheon and business session are announced for members of Mistletoe Club of the Royal Neighbors of Amer ica Lodge. The luncheon will be served at 12 noon, Wednesday, November 13 in the Girls Com munity Club and the business meeting will follow. Mrs. Lula Webster is luncheon chairman. MEDFORD January Date Set for Rites The engagement and ap proaching marriage of Miss Su san Claire Watrud, daughter of Mrs. Harriet Watrud, 19 Geneva Street, to Robert Lichtenstcin has been announced by the bride-elect's mother. The bridegroom-elect is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lichten stein, Lampman Road, Gold Hill. Miss Watrud, a Medford High School graduate, also attended Southern Oregon College. She now is employed at Jean Hart, Inc. Her fiance also attended Southern Oregon College and was graduated from Crater High School. He is employed at Morse Motors. Reunioh Dinner To Be Planned A reunion dinner will be plan ned at a business meeting of the Scottish Rite Women's Club Monday, November 11, at 8 p.m. at the Medford Masonic Temple, Mrs.'H. C. Goldsmith, president of the group, has announced. The dinner will be held in the near future. Mrs. L. D. Edwards, chair man, assisted by Mrs. R. A. Witham and Mrs. W. A. Hatzi, will have charge of the refresh ments for the evening.
