Twenty - five members and guests, attended. Mrs. Charles Hurley, Mrs. Eric Schoonmaker and Mrs. Gene Cordes were hostesses. Mrs. Zane Fleishman, presi dent conducted a meeting when plans were made to help serve a city council dinner, to assist with a Roaring Twenties party in November and to arrange the annual Elks Christmas party- i Mrs. John Ravenscroft, Mrs. ; Ross Bigler. Mrs. John A. Mor gan and Mrs. Hugh O'Dell, j guests, were introduced by their hostesses. Lady Elks officers for the1 1963-64 season are Mrs. Fleish man, president; Mrs. Edwin Loudon, vice president; Mrs. John A. Clark, secretary-treasurer, and Mrs. Robert Reyn olds, Sunshine chairman. Yreka Lodge Sets Membership Drive YREKA Hope Rebekah lodge women made plans for a membership drive at their re cent meeting, the drive to con tinue for the next six months. A contest will be conducted, the losing group to entertain the winners. Final plans also were made for a trip by lodge members to Dunsmuir. on October 23. The members voted to attend as a orouo a Rebekah meeting Uc- tober 8 in Mount Shasta, when the grand assembly president was to make an official visit to the Rebekah lodge there. Church Women which will be conducted November 1 in St. Mark's Episcopal church. Mrs. John Hall, Ascension Lutheran church is chairman for the ob servance and executive board members met during the week to formulate plans. The day will begin at 11 a m. with a business meeting; offi cers will be elected for 1962 and a United Nations report will be made, women of the host church will serve a potluck noon luncheon tor all who attend Ministers of the council and their wives will be guests. At 1 p. m., the program will begin in the church sanctuary. A guest speaker, and music will be planned. Packets from participaa ting churches will be accepted. Kindergarten Teachers Plan Monday Session The next fall meeting oi me Southern Oregon chapter of the Association for Nursery Muca tion will be held at the home of Mrs. Paul Ashbv, 830 Bennett street, at 7:30, Monday, Octo ber 14. Miss Gladys Durrand, ele mentary school supervisor, will be the main speaker. Her topic will be, "What we snouio ana should not do in kindergarten." Dr. Phvllis Butler, a member of Southern Oregon college faculty, will speak on "Standards. The meeting is open to teach ers, directors, and owners of all classifications of schools and organizations that are concerned with the welfare ana eaucauon of the pre-school child. Each person attending is to take a sample of crafts to share or any new idea for the Hal loween and Thanksgiving seasons. Central Point Club To Meet CENTRAL POINT-Past Ma trons club for Nevita chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet for their first fall session Wednesday, October 16 at 12:30 p.m., in the home of Mrs. Paul Snook, Shady Cove. A salad luncheon will be served. Mrs. Wylcs Berry is to assist Mrs. Snook. At a recent meeting of the court, Edward Branchfield, Medford lawyer and Jackson county state representative, spoke on the tax referendum which will be voted on Tuesday, October 15. I eon at noon. Security Club Masquerade Event Slated A Security Benefit club mas querade party and dance has been announced for Friday, Oc tober 18 in the Pythian build ing. Dancing will be conducted from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight and lunch will be served at 10 p.m. A nominal charge will be made and all interested persons are invited to attend Name cards for members are available, with James Grissom in charge of this project, offi cers announce. The club meets in the same Bethel Queens To Be Honored Members of Bethels 14, 55 and 69, International Order of Job's Daughters, and Medford chapter Order of the De Molay, are plan ning an informal dance party for October 19, to honor queens of the three bethels. The event will be held in the Medford Ma sonic temple and members of other bethels and De Molay chapters are invited. Bethel 14 members made plans toward the party when they met recently in the temple to observe Junior Bethel night. Miss Ada Harris, honored queen, presided. The Misses Marsha Svensen and Judy Johnson re ported on a recent installation of officers of warren assembly, In ternational Order of Rainbow for Girls, Jacksonville. Royal Arch Widows Plan Autumn Meeting The autumn meeting of Royal Arch Widows will be held Tues day, October 15, at the Jack sonville Masonic temple. A pot- luck dinner at 6:30 p.m. will precede the meeting. All members of Oregon chap ter 4, Royal Arch Masons and visiting members are invited. Candlelighters wer Andrea Bristlin, Oregon City, another cousin, and Ramona Kuhlman. Their frocks matched the flower girl's. Brother Best Man The Rev. Ted Landers, Port land, the bridegroom's twin, was I best man. Seating the guests were warren Bottemiller, Mil waukie; Rogers Murray, Tygh valley, Ore., cousin of the bride groom; and Randi Bristlin, Ore gon City, cousin of the bride. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the Fellow ship hall at the church. Mrs. Eaden chose a pink lace dress with briar rose acces sories and flowers for her daughter's wedding and recep tion. Mrs. Landers wore a gold lame dress with beige acces sories. Her flowers were talis man roses. The couple are making their home at Crescent, Ore., follow ing their return from a wedding trip to Canada. For traveling the the bride wore a brown suit with beige accessories. Her corsage was of pink rosebuds. The bride is a graduate of Emanuel Hospital school of nursing. Mr. Landers attended Southern Oregon college and Western Baptist Theological Seminary, Portland. Among the guests from Med ford who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Landers, parents of tha hrideflroom: Mrs. L. Gober, and Tom Eslinger.
