OREGON Rites Held at Baptist Church One of the fall's larger wed dings was an event of October 6 when Miss Patricia Sue Goltz and Douglas Gordon Fisher were married in 3 o'clock aft ernoon rites read in First Bap tist church. The Rev. B. E. An drews officiated. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin B. Goltz, 1532 Stratford avenue and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fisher, Eagle Point. Baskets of white chrysanthe mums and stock decorated the altar and yellow and white car nations with white bows mark ed the pew ends. Among the some 275 guests who attended the rites and re ception that followed the cere mony were a number who came from California, Washington and Oregon cities. Wears Organia The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of silk organza over bridal satin, styled with fitted bodice trimmed with lace ap pliques. The skirt, accented with rows of appliqued lace, was made with chapel train. Her bouffant elbow length veil of ny lon tulle was held by a single rose with sequins and she car ried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and stephanotis cen tered with a white Pearl Har bor orchid. Miss Fredia Goltz, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were M 1 s c Loretta Turman; Miss Beth Wilcox, Central Point, and Miss Ellen Montgomery, University of Oregon student. Junior bridesmaid was Darlene Fish er, a sister of the bridegroom. The attendants wore identical street length dresses of lace over royal blue satin with short sleeves, slim front panels and back fullness. Bands of satin formed the empire waistlines and back panels. Their circular veils were held by small crowns and they carried cascades of yellow carnations, the honor at tendant's bouquet being accent ed with white carnations. Their crystal necklaces were gifts from the bride. Timothy Fishpr, cousin of the bridegroom, and Dennis Olson, lighted the candles. Four Are Ushers Glen L. Goddard, Seattle, served as best man and seat ing the guests were Richard Bell, Seattle; Gary Francis, Ashland; Dale Gray, Portland, and Dan Goltz, a brother of the bridegroom. For her daughter's w e d d ing Mrs. Goltz chose a pink lace sheath dress over satin with matching accessories. Mis. Fisher, the bridegroom's moth er, was dressed in an emerald green brocade shealh frock with black accessories, and both had white orchid corsages. The Rev. John Byron Evans, and Maynard Hadley were so loists. and they also sang a duet. Mrs. Andrews furnished the wedding music. The reception given by I h e bride s parents was in tne church Fireplace room. The bride's table covered with blue tulle over white satin, was net orated with white carnation nosegays. The wedding cake centered the table and crystal appointments were used. Many Assist Mrs. Donald Simmers, aunt of the bride, and Miss Carol Lib. by cut and served the cake. Mrs. Robert Panuccio, a cousin of the bride, and Miss Donna Albston, Grants Pass, Presid ed at the gift table. Miss Lois Zimmer, San Diego, Calif., a cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book, and Mrs. Ronald Fisher, aunt of the bridegroom, served the ppneh. Hostesses were Mrs. Howard Myers, Mrs. Ross Turman and Mrs. Virginia Wicker. The wedding cake had been made by Mrs. I. A. Spires. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Baker, Arlington, Calif., friends of the bridegroom, arranged the bride's and attendants' bouquets and the corsages. The couple traveled to S a n Francisco for their wedding trip, the bride wearing a blue brocade jacket dress with black accessories. Her corsage was the orchid from her bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Mcdford High school and at tended Multnomah Bible school, Portland. She now is employed in the Harry and David s Bear Creek orchards International Eusiness Machines office. Is Youth Director The bridegroom, a graduate of Butte Falls High school, also attended Multnomah Bible school and is employed by Ragsdale Logging company. He is attending evening classes at Southern Oregon college and al so is youth director at Berean Baptist church White City. The couple is living at Apart ment 307, Medford Plaza apart ments. Among the out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Graham and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gray, Portland; Mrs. C. L. Gustafson, Christine and David; Mrs. Henry Dorrell, Elaine and Janice; Mr. and Mrs. fcdwara Goltz, Mona and Carl; Mr. and Mrs. William Smclser, and Mrs. H. D. Bussey, all Weed, Calif.; Mrs. Eldon Sandin, Yreka; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Fisher and family; Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Francis and Dotty; Mrs. Susie Kapteyn, Karen and Kenna Ba ker, all of Ashland; Ernest Gib son, Grants Pass and Wayne Zimmer, San Pedro, Calif. Degree of Honor Lodge Will Meet Decree of Honor lodge mem bers are to make plans for a Halloween party when tney meet Monday, October 14 at 7:45 p.m., in Girls Community club. Other social events also will be discussed. Hostess will be Miss Adaoee Seller. Navy Mothers Mcdford wavy mowers ciuo will convene Tuesday, October 15 for an all-day meeting and potluck luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Gordon Fisher Landis photo) Presbyterian Women Slate October Harvest Festival The Country Barn will be the over all theme for the Women's association, First Presbyterian church October Harvest festival to be staged this week in Fel lowship hall of the church, Eighth and Holly streets. The event to be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Friday, October 18 will not have a pre-Christmas theme and no one person will be bazaar chair man as in the past, association officers point out. Rather, an Indian Summer atmosphere will prevail. Luncheon A Country luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and business people par ticularly are reminded of this event. Coffee, rolls and cookies will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. The women's group hopes to meet various commitments at home and abroad from the festi val funds. The Farm and Garden stall will feature fall bulbs, plants, wreaths of dried materials, friuts and nuts; a What-Not stall will have odd pieces of china, linen, jewelry, pictures and frames; canned fruits, jams and relishes will be offered at the Country kitchen, while hand made and knitted items, baked foods and other items will be sold in the various "stalls." Handweavers List Program Rogue Valley Handweavers guild will see a demonstration on how to warp a loom when they meet Tuesday, October 15 in Rogue Valley Manor Tues day, October 15 at 7.30 p.m. Mrs. Essie Koontz will give the demonstrations. All interested weavers are in vited. Mrs. Wesley Woodcock and Mrs. Neal McGrady will be hostesses. VFW Auxiliary Events Listed Two meetings for members of the auxiliary to Crater Lake post, Veterans of Foreign Wars are scheduled for the week. The auxiliary will meet Tues day, October 15 at 8 p.m., in the VFW hall, 42 North Front street, for a business session and so cial evening. Mrs. J. D. Brum mond and Mrs. O. O. DcBerry are on the refreshment commit tee. The other session is for mem bers of the Auxiliay Sewing club who are to convene at 12:30 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Ira Canficld, 104 South Kecneway drive. I" IIIGdIc! Hill PTA Meeting Set For Monday GOLD HILL Gilbert A. Mack, principal of the Gold Hill schools in District 6 announced that the Parent-Teacher association will hold its first meeting of the 19631 school year on Monday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Patrick multi-purpose room. He said Hanby and Patrick teachers will be introduced to parents and will be asked to make remarks that will better acquaint them with the parents. Mr. Mack will discuss the parent-teacher method of report ing which will commence at Pat rick school during the ninth and tenth weeks. This conference concerning each child will re place report cards for the first and third nine week report pe riods, he said. Charles Meyer, superintend ent, will discuss the tax re ferral which is to be voted on Tuesday, October 15. Ronald Petrie, assistant su perintendent and director of cur riculum will be introduced dur ing the meeting. Mr. Mack said October 13 through October 19 is National School Lunch week. Parents of Gold Hill schools are invited to eat at the schools this week. The usual adult charge of 30 cents per meal will be the price for a parent's meal. He suggests that to avoid overcrowding in the cafeterias that parents come according to the following sched ule: Parents of first and fifth grad ers on Monday; second and sixth grade, Tuesday; third and sev enth grades, Wednesday; fourth and eighth grades, Thursday. Those who find it impossible to be there at the suggested times, may go on Friday. If haircuts were impossible, hair could grow to a length of about 10 feet, reports Lilt Ref erence Service. Miss Wick is a 1961 graduate of Crater High school and at tended Northwestern School of Commerce, Portland. She re cently returned from Oakland, Calif., where she was employed as a secretary.
