Patch 5B1 Beall lane, were honored guests at a reception Septem ber 1 held in their home in ob servance of the couple's twenty fifth wedding anniversary. The afternoon event, in the form of a surprise, was attended by nearly 40 relatives and friends. The hostess was Mrs. Patch's mother, Mrs. Earl Sharp, Jack sonville. She was assisted by the honored couple's daughters, Mrs. Bruce Hill. Central Point, Miss Rosalita Patch, a student nurse at the University of Ore gon school of nursing, and Mrs. David Hurd, Trail. Four generations of the fam ily attended. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Patch's other daugh ters, Pamela and Paula; Mrs. Patch's brother-in-law and sis ter. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ram-1 etes. and son. Gilchrist, Ore.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harley H. Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hall, and families, all of the Applegate; Mr. Patch's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alva G. Patch and famliy, Medford, and Mr. Sharp, Mrs. Paten s stepfather. Mixed bouquets decorated the rooms. Rather than a tradition al anniversary cake, strawberry shortcake, made by Mrs, Patch's mother was served. Mr. and Mrs. Patch were married September 23, 1938 in Coquille. She is the former Miss Elizabeth Hall, and now is a li censed practical nurse on the Rogue Valley Memorial hospital staff. Mr. Patch is a local con tractor. The anniversary party was held early since Mr. Patch and Mrs. Lloyd L. Marple (Locke photo) Original Song Composed For IVedding in Ashland ASHLAND - Tall baskets of gold and while gladioli and bronze chrysanthemums decora ted the candlelighted altar of the First Presbyterian church for the wedding of Miss Sandra Lee Garrett and Lloyd L marple. as read by the Rev. B. J. Hol land. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde R. Garrett, 534 Auburn street, and those of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Loren D Marple, 3630 Haig street, Santa Clara, Calif. room for more than 150 guests. Mrs. H. Coppinger, aunt of the bride, continued serving the wedding cake after the tradi tional first slice had been cut by the newlyweds. After a honeymoon spent on the coast and at Lake Tahoe the couple drove to Santa Clara where Mr. Marple is manager of a Douglas service station and where they will make their home at 1565 Munroe street. Mr. and Mrs. Marple both at- Chantilly lace with pearl and . tended Ashland high school and sesuin accents formed the cuta way overskirt that fell into a full chapel train over the bride's floor - length organza gown. The form - fitting bodice was made with long sleeves and lace applicqued shoulder neck line. The bride's fingertip illu sion net veil was held by an organza rose and she carried a bouquet of white carnations. Mr. Garrett gave his daughter in marriage. Miss Lynn Garrett of Medford was maid of honor for her sis terMiss Evcrn Kinney was bridesmaid, and Malinda Lou Hall, a cousin from Klamath Jails, the flower girl. The bridal attendants frocks of beige were accented by satin hats and slippers and each lar- ried white carnations and orange gladioli tied with bronze rib bons. The flower girl, whose basket was filled with rose pet als, wore an organza frock in frosted orange shade with bronze slippers. Session to End Club Vacation Ending summer vacation Howard Garden club will re sume meetings Tuesday, Sep tember 10, at the home of Mrs. N. F. Gier, 2902 North Pacific highway. Mrs. Hal Barry will be co-hostess. The program, to be led by Mrs. Lome McCay, will con cern succulents and uses for driftwood. Mrs. Paul Robertson, newly installed president, will preside. Dessert luncheon will be served at 1 p.m. Prospect Family Takes Trip South PROSPECT Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bliss and children Chryl, Bonnie and Larry, have returned from a trip to Lake Tahoe, Nev., where they visited Mrs. Bliss's brother, Farhman Duhnam, and family. Miss Rosalita Patch, now on a month's vacation from the nurs ing school, will leave Septem ber 14 for a Canadian moose hunting trip and will be away until September 28. Wedding Anniversary Is Observed Mr and Mrs. Georee Barker, 2371 Sunset court, were honored on the occasion of their twenty fifth wedding anniversary Sun day, Sept. 1. Their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Anderson, Jacksonville highway, honored the couple. . A 1 o'clock dinner was at tended also by the Barkers' dauehter. Miss Sharon Barker, and Mrs. Bessie Hubler, Mo desto, Calif., mother of Mrs. Barker. Later in the afternoon rela tives and friends of the couple arrived for a surprise reception. The rooms were decorated with white and apricot colored gladioli brought from Grants Pass by two ot tne guests, Mr. and Mrs. Alec Davidson. The reception table was cen tered with a wedding cake deco rated in silver and with candles at either side. Mrs. Charles Field, Grants Pass, another daughter of the honored couple cut and served the cake. Mrs. Anderson served the punch and coffee. Others attending were Mrs. Tamar Sparks, Campbell, Calif., a sister of Mrs. Barker and Mr. Field and the couple's children. Mr. and Mrs. Barker were presented gifts. The couple was married September 1, in the South Med ford church, which was located at West Main street and North Oakdale avenue, where the west side Safeway store now stands. Happy Camp Woman Is Honored Guest HAPPY CAMP - A surprise shower was given recently for Mrs. Raymond Wasson at the home of Mrs. Dempsey Willis. Mrs. Ron Boren was cohostess. Entertaining on the electric guitar was Tina Dolezal. During the evening games were played with prizes won by Mrs. LaVonne Walters, Mrs. Pete Fleming, Mrs. Elmer Or rell, and Kathy Skceters. A decorated cake made by Mrs. Willis was served.
