Arrested Monday evening were Encarnacion Mala, 21, and his brother, Robert, 19. Both are from Laredo but live at the Vale labor camp. Ingram said the elder Mata admitted firing the shots that killed 26-year-old Juan Jim incz, another resident of the camp. Jimincz died Sunday night at an Ontario hospital, about an hour after he was shot in the back. Vale Police Chief Ken James said his investiga tion showed Jiminez was at a dance at Vale when two men came into the hall and picked a tight with him. Jiminez ran from the hall, and one of the men shot him in the back about a block from the building. Blackberry Pkkerc Ciutioned on Spray Jackson County Weed Con trol Supervisor Ray Hubbell this week advised blackberry pickers to pick in other areas than along county roads since crews are now spraying for blackberry control. The sprays used are non toxic and would not harm anyone eating them, but a few people may be allergic to cer tain sprays as the 2,4D and the 2,4,5-T used, he said. Those people still worried could put their berries in deep freeze and watch the hushes picked from to see if they have been sprayed, County Agent Don Berry suggested. DEFENSE FAILS HIM Kingston-on-Thames, E n g land -lUPIl- Peter Jones, an 18-year-old laborer, told a court Monday he was swing ing from the roof of the King ston parish church one recent midnight because " I have an arrangement with the vicar." He was fined $8.40 for being drunk and disorderly. Assault Victim Leaves Hospital Mrs. Betty Ross Kistncr. 38, of 236 North Ivy St., Med ford, who was beaten on the head with a rock last Thurs day by an unknown assailant, left Rogue Valley hospital Monday for her home. City police said they v,cre continuing their Investigation of the case, but had ni infor mation to release is. this time. Mrs. Kistner's condition was listed as "poor" for sev eral days. It had been Improv ing since Saturday. She had fallen asleep while watching television at her apartment when the intruder broke into her living room, she told officers. She was awakened by the assault. When she screamed, the in truder left and her landlady came to her aid and called police. MiMHilM!!
