JULY 14. 1963 Newlyweds Take Trip To San Francisco Area Ashland - Baskets of lav ender gladioli and tall lighted candelabra formed the back ground for the wedding if Mr. and Mrs. Dale M. Walter at the Congregational church. The double ring ceremony at 2 p.m. June was performed by the Rev. B. J. Holland. The new bride, the former Mary Gayle Hodgins, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hodgins, 192 North Mountain avenue, is a graduate of Ore gon State university. Mr. Walter, whose mother is Mrs. Vera Walter, Talent, is a Southern Oregon college graduate. Travelers Home From Vacation Prospect - Mr. and Mrs. Clyde White and daughters, Laura and Cheryl, returned recently from a three week va cation trip to the east. They traveled over the Winnemuc-ca-to-the-Sea highway and con tinued to Charleston, S. C. They also visited at the home of Mr. White's brother, James White, in Hickory, N.C.. Returning West they stopped at the Smoky Moun tains National park, Lincoln's memorial, Springfield, 111., and visited Mr. White's sister, Mrs. Myrtle Sullivan and family in Tennessee. Other visitations were made to the Black Hills and Wind Cave of South Dakota and Dinosaur National mon ument in Vernal, Utah. At Salt Lake City the family vis ited the Mormon temple and in Wyoming, the Grand Teton National park. They toured Yellowstone National park, and returned home through Idaho. Upon their arrival, they were visited by Mrs. White's brother, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sines Caudill and son, and a sister, Mrs. D. L. Brin tle, Gaston, Ore, Olive Rebekah Lodge to Meet The next meeting of Olive Rebekah lodge will be held at the Odd Fellows hall, Monday, July 15. Mrs. Joseph Webster will be the accompanist for a vo cal program at 8 p.m. with the meeting following. The committee in charge of refreshments will be Mrs. C. H. Jordan, Mrs. Frank Chapman, Mrs. J. D. Flem ing and Mrs. Sadie DeLa Mater. All visiting Rebekahs are Invited to attend. The bride's floor length nylon organza gown was fashioned with maiy ruffles banded with lace. The cap sleeved bodice was made with square neck and her illusion net veil fell shoulder length from a small pearl and se quin coronet. She carried a shower bouquet of white or chids and stephanotis. Mr. Hodgins gave his daughter in marriage. In the wedding party were Miss Diane Bowlin, Downey, Calif., maid of honor; Mrs. Thomas Baker, Salem, matron of honor, and Miss Markay Balfour, Eugene, junior brides maid, wearing matching frocks in shades of purple, lila: and orchid, with net overskirts and veils to match their dresses. Each carried a nosegay of white carna tions. The bridegroom had for his best man John Bjork, Fresno, Calif. The ushers were the bride's brother, Robert Hodgins. Eugene, and Robert Graves, Forest Grove. Mrs. LeeAnn Allen was the soloist and was accompanied at the organ by Miss Margar et Ramsay, who also played the processional and recession al music. A reception in the church social hall followed the cer emony. The hosts were Mr. and Mrs. George Findlay and those who assisted with serv ing cake, punch and coffee were Mrs. Richard Bourne, Mrs. Bruce Merrill, Mrs. Thomas Ferte, Mrs. Douglas Pruitt, Mrs. Robert Hodgins and Mrs. Robert Johnson. Mrs. Robert Cessnum was in charge of the guest book. For their honeymoon to the Bay area and San Fran cisco, Mrs. Walter wore a cream linen suit with red ac cessories. Mr. and Mrs. Walter will make their home at 801 Beach street, Ashland. The bride, who took part of her college course at SOC after graduating from Ashland high school, is a teacher of busi ness education at Medford High school. Her husband is with the Medford office -f the Jackson County Federal Savings and Loan association. 4 Guests Central Point Mr. and Mrs. Roland Smith and fam ily, Dixon, Calif., are guests of Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Walter (Locke photo) Report Is Given Yreka Thirty-two mem bers of the Yreka Nile club held a meeting in the city park recently which will be their last until September. A report on the 47th an nual supreme session of the Daughters of the Nile, held in Reno, Ncv., was given by Mrs. Orlo Davis. Mrs. Davis reported that after the ses sion a tour by bus to Virginia City, Carson City and other points was made before re turning to Reno. Attending the convention from Yreka were Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Walter Peters, Mrs. Gertrude Johnson, Mrs. Gladys Zimmerman, Mrs. Harriett Davidson, Mrs. Merle Spangle, Mrs. Earl Skinner, Mrs. Barbara Cross, Mrs. Inez Lorenzen and Mrs. Helen Bisagno. It was announced that there would be a ceremonial in Sacramento, August 7, and Supreme Queen Mrs. John Layman will be present. Members discussed matters pertaining to the Sacramento meeting during the business session. It was also announced that anyone who pep-'"1 " ing to take home for summer work should contact ......
