Mrs. Stuart McQueen, 2136 Hillcrest road, was hostess for a miscellaneous shower at her home attended by 24 relatives and friends of Miss Avres. Later she was honored at a this and that" shower at the home of Mrs. Virgil Mohr, Z132 Dellwood avenue, which was attended by some 30 guests. Mrs. John Collins, 2248 Dellwood avenue, gave a cof fee the morning of July 3 in honor of Miss Ayres, attended by 18 friends. Miss Ayres, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron J. Ayres, 12 North Groveland avenue, and Mr. Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Morris, 240 Sunrise avenue, will be mar ried in an evening ceremony July 12 at St. Mark's Episco pal church. Recently Miss Ayres" three bridesmaids, Miss Susan Gar ner, Miss Lynn Kinney, and Miss Alice Jonason, gave a tchen shower for the bride- elect at the trailer court in Phoenix where the couple plan to live. The event was attended by 30 college friends of Miss Ayres. - Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Ran dall Austin are on a wedding trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, before returning to Burney, Calif., where they will make their home. The couple were married June 29 at Sacred Heart Catholic church at 10 o'clock in the morning. The Rev. John Ilg officiated at the dou ble ring ceremony and nuptial mass, which was attended by 75 relatives and friends. The bride, the former Myr na Josephine Whitman, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Johnston, 1136 West Eighth street, and the bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John B. Austin, Wood burn. William Whitman, brother of the bride, escorted her to the altar. Her afternoon length dress was of white lace over satin with long sleeves. A lace crown held her shoul der length veil, and she -carried a bouquet of white car nations and rosebuds. Miss Marilyn Whitman, Sacramento, Calif., sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Mary Kay Dugan, Ashland, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. Their white dresses were embroidered in pink and they wore wide brimmed white hats. They carried bouquets of white carnations and pink rosebuds. Mary Tara Lewis, niece of the bride, was flow er girl. She wore a white dress with pink sash, and a pink and white ruffled wide brimmed hat. She carried a white basket of pink and white spider chrysanthe mums. Francis Murphy was best man, and Eric and Peter Jen sen served as altar boys. Mi chael Whitman, Eagle Point, brother of the bride, and James Lewis, brother-in-law of the bride, were ushers. The church was decorated with pink gladioli and white stock. The wedding music was played by organist Bruno Pel legrini. A reception given after the wedding by the Misses Helen and Margaret Dugan, Eagle Point, was attended by about 60 persons. For her traveling attire the bride wore a pink suit with pleated skirt and matching straw hat. The bride was graduated from St. Mary's High school and attended Southern Ore gon college. The bridegroom attended the Mcdford schools and Southern Oregon college, He is employed as an account ant at Lorenz Lumber com pany, Burney, Calif. : ' Visitors Ashland-Holiday week vis itors at the Ralph Burgess home, 40 Bush street, have been their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Burgess Jr., and their three small sons from Duarte, Calif. Miss Teresa Sauve to Gale Sheperd, son of Mrs. Herman Sheperd, 909 Sunset ivenue, and the late Mr. Sheperd. Miss Sauve is a graduate of Phoenix High school. Mr. Sheperd was graduated from Medford High school and is employed at Rogue Valley Country club. No date has been set for the wedding. Bealy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Beaty, 890 Beach street, Ash land. Miss Highland, a senior in secondary education at South ern Oregon college. Is em ployed at Burk's Awning com pany for the summer and at tending summer school. Mr. Beaty is graduate ol Southern Oregon college and is employed by the Ashland branch of the First National Bank of Oregon as a manage ment trainee. A September wedding is planned. Mr. Hayes was graduated from Bell Gardens High school, attended Occidental college, and served in the U S Army. He is employed with the G. L. Latterson company as a heavy equipment oper ator. The workshops are scheduled for July 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Public Library of Medford and Jackson County. Mrs. Frank Bogard, chair man of the stisdy, said the non partisan voters group plans to discuss assets and limitations of legislation on foreign eco nomic aid which is now in con gressional committees. The league will examine the cur rent U.S. aid program, as well as the proposed legislation. Clarence O. Jackson, at the First Church of the Naza rcne, Medford, June 28. The date was the birthday of the bride's father, who is minister of the Pilgrim Holi ness church, Central Point, He was assisted by the Rev. J. Connor, district superinten dent, of the Pilgrim Holliness church. The bride Is also the daugh ter of Mrs. Jackson, 611 East Pine street, Central Point. The parents , of the bride groom are Mr. and Mrs. Oscar J. Willard, 4811 Hope drive. The bride s floor - length gown of white lace over taf feta with a scalloped neck line, was embroidered with pearls and iridescent sequins. The bouffant skirt, which was drawn up in back with two lace bows, formed a chapel train and her silk illusion fingertip length veil was held by a pearl crown. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of or chids, lilies of the valley, and white roses. The bride's dress was designed and made by her mother. Mr. Jackson gave his daughter in marriage. Mrs. Charles E. Jackson, Bremerton, Wash., sister - in law of the bride, was matron of honor, and the bridesmaid was Miss Darlene M. Shelley, Medford. Both wore ballerina length gowns of orchid taffeta and small orchid, flowered crowns with short veils. They carried heart-shaped bouquets of orchids. The flower girls, Deborah L. Brown, the bridegroom's niece, and Kelly R. West, Medford, wore street length dresses of orchid taffeta and headpieces of white roses and small veils. They carried small wicker baskets accented with orchid bows. Charles E. Jackson, the bride's brother, was best man, and John C. Willard, the bridegroom's brother, and Clayton R. Brown, the bride groom's brother-in-law, were ushers. Candlclighters for the eight evening rites were Ross and Wileen clock Kathy Dewey Mrs. Clifford Freizen play ed the organ wedding music and accompanied the soloist, Arthur Freizen. Mrs. Jackson wore a pink lace sheath dress and white accessories. Mrs. Willard chose a nile green silk dress with white and beige acces sories. N Baskets of white roses and orchid delphiniums decorated the church and white bows nd orchids marked the pew ends. A large heart, decorated with orchids, served as a background for the weding party. At the reception Miss Glen da Alexander and Miss Alicia West served the cake baked by Mrs. Robert Lull. Miss Iris Alexander presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. John Connor, Salem, was in charge of the guest book. Miss Caro lyn Ross was In charge of the gifts, Assisting nt the reception were Miss Pamela West, Mr. and Mrs. James West, Mrs. June Kneeland. Mrs. Robert Lull and Mrs. Ed win Hayes. For their wedding trip to California the new Mrs. Wll lard wore a cotton dress of canary yellow with white ac cessories and the orchids from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate Central Point - Eva Shafer and Harvey Gearhart were wed June 28 In 8 o'clock eve ning rites read in Meeker Memorial chapel of the First Methodist church. Dr. George Roseberry officiated for the double ring ceremony attend ed by some 73 guests. The bride, of 316 South First street, Central Point, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Watkins, Wichita, Kans. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gearhart, 514 Siskiyou boulevard, Ash land, where he also lived. Leslie L. Shafer, Long Beach, gave his mother in marriage. Her light blue sheath dress with jacket was of embroidered nylon and she wore a matching flowered hat with shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds. Mrs. Jack Tice, Anniston, Ala., a daughter of the bride, was the honor attendant. Her white linen sheath dress was of linen with pink embroider ed roses and her hat with short veil also was pink. Her bouquet was of pink and white carnations. Madeline and Linda Sue Shafer, daughters of the bride, lighted the candles. Their dresses were of pink nylon and they wore pink flower and net headbands. Chapel decorations were of pink gladiolus, white stock and pink and white carna tions. Mrs. Leslie Boardman was organist and Michael Johnson was soloist. A. C. Marmo was best man and seating the guests were Douglas Shafer, a son of the bride and Mr. Tice, a son-in-law. The reception held In the Rogue room of the Medford hotel was directed by Mr. Marmo. Floral arrangements of pink roses, pink and white carnations and white daisies decorated and reception room. Mrs. Ford Hunncll, Bend, and Mrs. Ned Mars, both cousins of the bridegroom, Mrs. Marmo, Mrs. Clara Rob erson, Miss Shirley Alexander and Larry Homer assisted at the reception table. In charge of the gift table were Mrs. Nellie Randies and Mra. Margaret Blcgcl, both Ashland. About 125 guests at tended. The couple made their wed ding trip to the coast and now are living at 316 South First street, Central Point, The bride is private duty nurse and the bridegroom is employed as a maintenance engineer at the Medford hotel. Among the guests at the wedding were the bride's nine children and one grandchild. Others from out of town were Barnard Miller, Cauoga Park, Calif., Jack Taylor, San Francisco; Mr. Hunnell and Mrs. Lucille Qulnn, Wilder-ville. in Eoubt? m Ur :Sj of Crater High school.
