Quinnty Jr. (Clatiio photo) Art Exhibit At Fontaines Artistji and art patroni of (he valley are showing con siderable interest in the cur rent ehow of art works at the Fontaine Framing Studio and gnllrry, 329 South Grape street. The paintings, draw ings and other works are from the collection of Lloyd Hal vcrsun, and have not been previously shown here. Anyone interested Is Invit ed to visit the gHllery with out charge. Hours are from 8.10 a in. lo 5:30 p.m. Mon day through Saturday. Of particular interest are IB pen and ink drawings by Hamilton Aide, (Paris 1826 Lor.don 190M) who was the grand.ton of an Armenian merchant from Constantino ple. His mother was the third daughter of Sir George Col lier. Remarkable is the fact that Aide was also a novel ist, poet and dramatist in ad dition to being an artist. This series of drawings taken from his 1R62-18U8 sketchbook rep resent srencs In France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Cer many and England. Also displayed is a fine landscape l-y Thomas Cole, major American artist work- Visitor Ashland - Ben Lombard is visiting in Ashland this week at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Robert M. Turner, and with other friends, before return ing to be with hit mother, Mrs. Jessie Lombard, at Orcas Island, Wash. He ti a law stu dfnt at tlui University of Mich-Igan. lng in the first half of the llh century. Mr. Halvcrson is also show ing additional drawings by James M. W. Tumor, Eng lish artist. These include beach and wreck scenes done at Brighton in 1827. A rare miniature on copper ol unvcr Cromwell as young man and done by Jan Mylens, the younger; a (loral by A. E. llarriman, English pupil of Henri Kantin-Laluur, the fr.mous French floral art 1st; "A Cloudy Day" by Curl Jonnevold, a well. known tilth century painter of the Cali fornia Bay area; drawings by Pietro Da Cortona. Abraham Bloemaerts, E. Duncan; a sketch for a ceiling corner mural done by Huphm-I in 1317 and a number of other Interesting pieces are in the exhibit. All are for sale. Miss Marcia Virginia Bar rcll became the bride of Grant A. Quinney Jr. in a ceremony held June 22 at St. Mark's Episcopal church. The Bev. George R. V. Bolster or ficiated at the double ring rites attended by 200 relative and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Barrell, 101 Greenway drive. Mr, Quinney is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant A. Quinney, 1013 Winchester avenue Baskets of white stock and pink carnations decorated the church and white gladioli marked the pew ends. Miss Patricia Selby was soloist Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of pcau de sole fashioned with fitted bodice three-quarter length sleeves and full gored skirt. Outlin lng the scoop neckline were appliqucd lace roses. They also trimmed the skirt. Her shoulder length veil of Illu sion was held by a small cap of Alencon lace and seed pearls She carried a white orchid and stephanotis and a hand kerchief, more than 100 years old, which had been given her by her grandmother, Mrs. William Wcllman, Portland, who attended the rites. In her shoe was a sixpence Sister Is Attendant Mrs. Thomas Taylor, Port land, was honor attendant for her sister. The other attend ants were Miss Karen Sten bcrg, Corvallis; Miss Nanette Istcd, a cousin, and Miss Kara lee Selby. They wore frocks of peppermint pink linen with matching hats and shoes and carried nosegays of white stephanotis and pink -rosebuds. Robert Quinney served as best man for his brother. Seat ing the guests were Colburn Barrell, brother of the bride, Jerry Anderson and Eldon Bennett. Twins Mike and Mark Mc Laughlin, San Rafael, Calif., were ring bearers. Acolytes were Charles Istcd, cousin of the bride, and William Edwards. Mrs. Barrell wore a Dior blue silk sheath dress with pink accessories with a white orchid corsage for her daugh ter's wedding and the recep tion which followed in the parish hall of the church. Mrs. Quinney chose a beige sheath dress with matching accesso ries and cymbldium orchid corsage. ' Pink roses and ferns deco rated the tables for the recep tion. Mrs. Ralph Hibbs and Mrs. Henry Cuthbert, Port land, cut and served the wed ding cake. Mrs. Ralph Bross, aunt of the bridegroom pre sided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Maurice Istcd, aunt of the bride, poured coffee. Miss Mini Jo Clausen, Portland, was In charge of the guest book and Jennifer Hlbbs and Christine Carter passed bags of pink rice. Miss Judi Istcd, cousin of the bride, was at the gift tabic. Travel to Coast The ncwlywcds traveled to the coast on their wedding trip, the bride wearing for traveling a pink summer suit with pink flowered hat and black patent accessories. They arc making their home at 13.15 Northwest 23rd street, Portland. The new Mrs. Quinney Is a graduate of Medford High school and Is scheduled lo graduate in September from Good Samaritan hospital school of nursing. Mr. Quin ney is a graduate of Medford High school and attended Ore gon State university. South ern Oregon college and Port land Slate college. During the summer he is employed by United Grocers In Portland and will resume his stvidies in accounting this fall at Brlgham Young university Provo, Utah. Among the out of town guests attending were Mr. Cuthbert and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morris, Mr. and Mrs. James Hunter, and Miss Sandra Summers, all Portland; Mr. and Mrs. E. Fields, 411 Bcatly street, Medford, and the late Mr. Fields. Miss DeHaas is a 1863 grad uate of Crater High school. and Mr. Fields is a 1961 grad uate of Medford High school. He is employed at Fir Ply wood company. A November wedding is planned. VI 'X Miss Patricia DeHaas International Flea Market Is Set For Late October Med ford Junior Service league members are prepar ing this summer for a new fall project. It will be an In ternational Flea Market, which will b? held at the Medford Armory on October 23, 26 and 27. The flea market is describ ed by its sponsors as a com bination bazaar, rummage sale and fun fair, and is believed to be the first benefit of its type to be presented In the southern Oregon area. Mrs. Ronald Ricketts and Ms. James Shaw are co-chair men for the event, and they anticipate an attendance of six to eight thousand people. Food and entertainment will be planned to please children and adults, and the flea mar ket is expected to attract fam ily groups as well as indi viduals of all ages. Merchandise for sale will be varied - new, hand-made, slightly used, antique, home baked and usable "Junk." Couple Married In Ohio Rites Mrs. Robert J. Hole, 2920 Coleridge road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Marrs Gib bons, Medford, were married June 22, at the Fairmount Presbyterian church In Cleve land Heights by Dr. Richard Pacini. Mrs. Hole's daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. OUn F. Schlaak, Milaukce, at tended the couple. A reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter K. Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Gibbons will reside in San Francisco and Medford, Ore. Ashland - Guests at the Nob Hill home of H. 11. Elhart are his brother and sister-liv law. Do nations will be tax-deductible, since the proceeds from the flea market will be used for community benefit. Newly weds Travel in Canada Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gal lagher are on an extended wedding trip through Canada, the New England states and eastern and southern United States before returning to Hayward, Calif., where they will make their home in early September. The couple were married June 22 at Sacred Heart Cath olic church at 11 o'clock in the morning. The Rev. John Ilg officiated at the double ring ceremony and nuptial mass which was attended by 75 relatives and friends. The bride is tne former Dorothy Nell Rhymes, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Rhymes, 1715 Crown avenue. Mr. Gallagher of Hayward, is son of Mrs. Joseph Gal lagher, Rockwell, Iowa, and the late Mr. Gallagher. Baskets of pink and laven der chrysanthemums deco rated the church. Bruno Pelle grini was organist and Miss Marilyn Gallagher, Minneapo lis, Minn., sister of the bride groom, was soloist. Father Escorts Brida The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore a gown of imported French Chantilly lace and nylon tulle. The fitted bodice was fash ioned with a yoke of nylon net and the skirt was of tiers of tulle. Her elbow length veil was held by a pearl crown and she carried a bou quet of while spider chrysan themums encircling a white orchid. Mrs. Alan Keaton, Portland, Alpha Phi sorority sister of the bride, was matron of hon or. Miss Joanne Scliuiie, way ward, was bridesmaid. They wore white sheath frocks with overskirts fashioned with shepherdess backs and carried pink and lavender chrysanthemums. Harold Gallagher, Hamp ton, Iowa, served as best man for his brother and seating the guests were Michael Silan, Woodland, Calif., brother-in- law of the bridegroom, and Martin Stow, Chester, Calif. Altar boys were Thomas Clark and James Naumes. Mrs. Rhymes wore a beige lace dress with blue acces sories for her daughter's wed ding. Her flowers were white cymbidium orchids. Mrs. Gal lagher chose a navy blue suit with white accessories and her corsage was of white phalaen opsis orchids. A reception followed the ceremony at the Rogue Valley Country club. Mrs. Donald C Shores and Mrs. Larry Badger Curtis, Calif., sisters of the bride, cut and served the wed' ding cake. Pouring punch and coffee were Mrs. James Kel ley, Mrs. Cleo Taylor, Mrs. Justin Smith Jr.," and Mrs. Bruce Samson, Eugene. Mrs. Donald Wilkinson was in charge of the guest book. For traveling the bride wore a green linen suit with white accessories. The bride attend ed Medford High school and the University of Oregon. She is a teacher in the Hayward, Calif., public schools. Mr. Gal lagher attended Loras college, Dubuque, Iowa, and Colorado State college, and is a teacher and counselor in the San Mateo Union High school dis trict. The evening prior to the Wedding Plans Are Announced Central Point-The wedding of Miss Mary Louise Meyers, Eugene, and Second Lt, Bert J. Nelson, son of Mrs. Glen Watson, Central Point, and Bert Nelson, Eagle Point, is scheduled for July 6 in St. Mary's Catholic church, Eu gene. The wedding plans were an nounced some time ago by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Meyers, Eugene. Miss Meyers attended Sac red Heart School of nursing in Eugene and Lieutenant Nelson, a graduate of the Uni versity of Oregon, has been attending Officers Training school in San Antonio, Texas. Among those attending the wedding from Rogue valley will be the parents of the bridegroom.
