Milnt Couple Arrives From Germany Mr. and Mrs. John E- Milne have arrived in Medford irom Germany and are with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Milne, 2824 Country Club drive. The younger Mr. Milne has just completed a two and one half year tour of duty with the Sixth Artillery of the Third Armored division and was stationed near Frankfurt. He was a personnel specialist with the division. During his stay in Germany Mr. Milne was married to Miss Elke Krauss, daughter of ' Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Krauss of Both-Gelnhausen, Germany. This is Mrs. Milne's first stay in the United States. The young couple plan to - make their home here. , Phoenix Church . Women To Meet Phoenix - An all-day meet , ing is planned by Phoenix Presbyterian Women's associ ation for Tuesday, May 14. ( The business session is to be gin at 10 a.m., and a program is scheduled for 11 a.m. The ' topic will concern the study ; theme, "The Rim of Asia," and a film entitled, "Hunger," will be shown. Candidates are from Ashland, Jacksonville, Medford, Grants Pass and Klamath Falls. A potluck dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The meat dish, coffee, milk, rolls and butter will be furnished by the chapter. The ceremonies will open at 8 p.m. All Royal Arch Masons and candidates are invited. Candi dates consist of wives, moth ers or daughters of any Royal Arch Mason in good standing. The Rev. B. J. Holland offi ciated at the mid-afternoon double ring service. - Mr. and Mrs. Lawton Lew is, S75 Liberty street, are the bride's parents. iThe bride groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Chambreau of Hillsboro. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown 01 ivory peau de soie, Pearls edged the round neckline of the fitted bodice and a crystal and pearl tiara held her bouffant illusion net veil. She carried a bouquet of deep red roses. Honor attendants, Miss Linda Neal, San Francisco, and Miss Karen Fieguth, Sac ramento, were dressed alike in ballerina length semi-bouffant frocks of turquoise bro cade. Their shore net veils were held by matching rose bud bandeaux and they car ried bouquets of pink carna- Roguette Circle Slates Meeting; Officers Named A meeting of Roguette cir cle, Military Order of Lady Bugs is set for Tuesday, May 14 at 8 p.m., in the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 42 North Front street. Several members of the cir cle were elected to state of fices and others received ap pointments, during a recent state convention in Coos Bay. . Mrs. R. E. Schulz was elect ed royal treasurer. Others elected were MrB. O. O. De Berry, Mrs. Ben Allison and Mrs. Con Rost. Mrs. De Berry's office will concern In- itiatory work; Mrs. Allison's hospital work, and Mrs. Alli son and Mrs. Rost also are trustees. Appointive offices were given to Mrs. L. Social Group Plans Election Reames Social club will hold the annual election of officers during the monthly luncheon Wednesday, May IS, at 12 noon at the Medford Masonic temple. Mrs. H. E. For their candlelighting du ties the bridegroom a sisters, Laurie and Christine Cham breau, wore full skirted white organdy frocks with lace bo leros and blue cummerbunds, and their wristlets were of pink carnations. Thomas McDowell, Pull man, Wash., served as best man. The ushers were Robert Andrews, Portland, and Ger ald Peloquin, Forest Grove; groomsman was Gary Seaney, Portland. . Organ Music Candelabra and tall white baskets of stock marked either side of the chancel. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. J. W. Mc Coy played a short program of organ numbers and the marches. More than 60 guests were greeted at the Lewis home after , the church ceremony, The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. John Culp, Mrs. William Weber, Port land poured coffee and Mrs, Peter Semple presided at the punch bowl. Miss Diane Fie guth was in charge of the guest book. For her daughter's weddine Mrs. Lewis wore a turquoise shantung suit with white hat and accessories. The bride groom's mother, Mrs. Cham breau, chose a willow green two-piece ensemble accented with sandalwood accessories. Both wore white gardenia corsages. When the new Mr. and Mrs. Chambreau left by plane for their home in Portland the bride was wearing a beige sheath dress with match ing jacket and black accesso ries. In Portland Mrs. Chambreau is a stu dent at Portland State college after attending the University of Oregon last year. Her hus band went to the University of Oregon and Willamette university and is now with the U.S. National Bank of Portland. Announce Guest Soloists For High School Concert Guest soloists who will ap pear in the Medford High school orchestra concert Mon day, May 20 are Miss Signe Lusk, a ninth grade student from Hedrick Junior High school, and Phillip Frohnmay cr, a Medford High school sophomore. The concert will be held in the high school auditorium at 8 p.m. Tickets for adults are available at Purucker's Music house, Lusk Music com pany and Emerald Music com pany, or from orchestra mem bers. No charge will be made for students. The orchestra, directed by John E. Drysdale, will include varied selections on their pro gram. Featured will be the Russian Sailors dance by Glier and the William Telloverture by Rossini. Miss Lusk, will perform the first movement of the Grieg A Minor Piano Concerto" and young Frohnmayer will play the first movement of Beethoven's "Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor." Pictures Of Colorado At Center Mrs. Beryl Lyon, 200 Sun rise ave., newly elected presi dent of Travel Study club and n active member of the art classes as the Senior Activity center will show colored slides at the Center Monday, May 13. They will be of Col orado, where Mrs. Lyon spent most of her married life. Welt informed of the history of her home xtate, with its 52 peaks over 14,000 feet high among the great Rocky moun tains, Mrs. Lyon will narrate the story of Colorado as she shows the pictures. Last week, over 30 men and women attended the show given by Edward Dahack on the Hawaiian Islands and the Dahack gardens on the Tiller Trail road. Many of the au dience expressed a desire to hire a bus and spend a day in the gardens if such a tour could be arranged. The pic tures Mr. Dahack took of the flaming river of lava which descended from an eruption of a great mountain during his time in Hawaii were hail ed as most spectacular. The groups who played shuffleboard on Wednesdays and the Square Dance group which met each Thursday morning are now canceled for the spring and summer pe riod. Wednesday morning is free for special committee meetings but Thursday morn ing is now full with an inter esting new activity, clay sculpture, under the leader ship of Mrs. Ruby Ralston, The new group is now work ing with a hundred pounds of clay which they are mold ing into life size heads. It is hoped that some of the work of these newly trained artists can be finished and shown at the open house planned by the Center members Sunday. May 26 from 1-5 p.m. during Sen ior Citizens week. All groups will take part in this annual celebration to which the public is invited each May. Each year, the members of the center show their appreci ation of the free use of the center and for the volunteer help of the teachers by hold ing this open house. The event is always open to the general public and especially to newcomers and seniors who have not yet entered any class. New programs for the sum mer season will be available at the time. ' $2m Blue Star Mothers Plan District Meet A delegation of Medford Blue Star Mothers club mem bers will attend a district con vention of the group to be held Thursday, May 16 in Grants Pass. A regular meet ing of the group scheduled for that date has been cancelled. Among those who plan to attend from Medford are Mrs. Mary Note, national third vice president; Mrs. Grace Gaston, department chairman of In dian affairs; Mrs. Mary Fred ricks, president of Chapter 2, Medford; Mrs. Ethel Sever son; Mrs. R. Mrs. Pearl Spackman and James Bishop furnished 'original poems. The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. Luncheon will b" served at 12 noon; a business meeting conducted at 1 p.m., and danc ing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Several couples have been arriving early to practice dance steps with music by the record player.
