Crews, Cen tral Point, announce the en gagement of their daughter, Miss Carol Ruth Crews, to John Edward Farr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Farr, High land Park, III. - Miss Crews Is a senior at Northwestern University In Evanston, 111. and is majoring in mechanical engineering She Is a member and former officer of Alpha Gamma Del ta sorority. Mr. Farr Is a senior at Northwestern university and is majoring in physics. He is an Evans scholar and a mem ber of Phi Eta Sigma, Pi Mu Epsilon, and Phi Dftlta Kappa. He received two lettern in track at Northwestern. He plans to work next year for his master's degree in phys ics. . A September wedding is planned. Goldschmidts Tell Betrothal Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Cold schmldt, Route 4, Box 313 Medford, announce the en gagement of their daughter, Erna Jean Coldschmidt, to Louie Prado Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Prado, Mon terey Park, Calif. Miss Coidschmidt attended Jacksonville and Medford schools and is now enrolled at Montcbello High school, Monttbello, Calif. Upon grad uation she plans to enroll in the Southland College of Med ical and Dental assistants, Mr. Prado, formerly a stu dent at Woodrow Wilson High school, Los Angeles, served in the United States Navy be tween 1959 and 1950. He then attended Los Angeles Trade Technical college and East Los Angeles college where he ma jored in engineering. The wedding is set for this summer in Lorelei chapel, Montebello, and the couplr plans to live in Monterey Park. Ashland Wpmen Party Hostesses Ashland-May baskets fill ed with spring blossoms deco rated the Mark Antony ball room May 4 when Mra. Fran cess Hardy, Mrs. Josephine Langtry and Mrs. Marcia Ross were hostesses for a bridge luncheon. A miniature flower-filled basket marked each guest's place at the 14 tables. The pastel covers and colorful menu were in the same theme and at the conclusion of play prizes in keeping with the motif were awarded. Mrs. H. O. Moore, Klamath Falls, won the carrying prize of a large flower arrange ment. High bridge score went to Mrs. Donal Brace and sec ond high to Mrs. M. P. Dunn. Shower Honors Bride-Elect Montague - Miss Sharon Rose McCulley, bride-elect of Don Price of Hornbrook was honored at a shower held re cently in the Allen Tanner home near Montague. The honored guest Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs Willy McCulley, Montague The wedding has been set for June 1 at 7:30 p.m., in the First Southern Baptist church Montague. Friends of the cou ple are invited to attend. Mrs. Tanner was assisted at the shower by her daughter, Miss Roseann Tanner and Mrs James Ostborg. Tho rooms were decorated with wedding bells and boa quels of flowers. Prizes for games were won by the bride- elect, her mother, and Mrs. Robert Bridwell. The bridegroom-elect Is a graduate of Medford High school and now is employed on the sales staff of Wets field's jewelers In Medford Shopping center. Medfo7dYouth Worker Elected Miss Kay Kent, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Earl Kent, 822 South Oakdale avenue, was elected Faith conference officer at an all-state Metho dist eonterencc held recently at Willamette university in Salem. She was ono of 10 young women from the Med ford First Methodist church to attend the meet. Miss Kent is a Junior at Medford High school and is active in the First Methodist Youth Fellowship group fur which she is treasurer. In her new state office. Miss Kent will participate in counclling on local and sub district levels for worship services at the state meetings. The all-state group meets three times a year in addition to the annual conference. Sandra Kay Clark Upper Rogue Couple Engaged P r o s p e c t Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clark, Star route, Box 65, Prospect, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Sandra Kay Clark, to Clarence Huntley, son of Mrs. Ann Huntley, Gold Hill. Miss Clark, a senior at Prospect High school, is to graduate this spring. Mr. Huntley, a 1999 graduate of Crater High school is em ployed by the U.S. Forest service at Union Creek. No wedding date has been set. Parents Tell Of Engagement Central Point The en gagement of Miss Leone Lor raine Tilford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Tilford, 313 Laurel street, Central Point, and David Harold Mathews has been announced by the bride's parents. Miss Tilford attended Crater High school. r The bridegroom-elect, a son of Mr. and Mrs, Harold Math ews, 519 West Jackson boule vard, Medford, attended school in Areata, Calif., and now is serving with the Army in Germany. Betrothal News Is Disclosed During Party News of interest here is the engagement of Miss Sara Jane Davis, daughter of Judge and Mrs. Alan Davis, Oswego, Ore., and Jerry Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton M. An derson, 737 Stevens street, Medford. Both are junior stu dents at the University of Ore gon. The news was announced during a party at the Delta Gamma chapter house for sorority sisters of Miss Davis. A novel hunt was conducted in which one of the guests found a basket containing a poem disclosing the announce ment. Refreshments were served in the dining room decorated in pink and orchid colors. Special guests included the mothers of the bride-elect and her fiance; Miss Susan Davis Lonegran, Mrs. Susan Scales Cameron, Miss Diana Daven port and Miss Karen Warren. Miss Davis is a student in elementary education and her fiance is a physical education major. No wedding date has been set. SOC Couple Is Engaged Ashland - The engagement of Miss Dixie Carol Revel and Ronald W. Baker, has been announced by the bride-elect's parents, Dr. and Mrs. Glenn M. Revel, 131 Terrace street, Ashland. Both the bride-elect and her fiance are students at Southern Oregon college. The bridegroom-elect is a son of Mrs. Lucille Johnson, 796 Waverly avenue, Med ford, and Ronald W, Baker Sr., 2907 Roberts road, Med ford. Miss Revel was graduated' from Ashland High school. She also is employed by Ash land Daily Tidings. The bridegroom-elect was graduated from Phoenix High school. No wedding date has been set. : Guild to Work On Decorations Tallies and decorations for the "Arts Festival," spring card party of St. Catherine's guild, .will be made by the members at the meeting on Monday night, May 13, in the Parish hall of St. Mark's Episcopal church. Members are asked to bring scissors and staplers. Hostesses will be Mesdames Jay Walker, Charles Clark and E. E. Earnest. The annual benefit party will be held on Tuesday, May 21, in the Guild hall and Par ish hall with dessert being served at 7 o'clock. Dance Studio Slates Ball The Arthur Murray studio will conduct a Medal ball Sun day, May 19 from 3 to 6 p.m., in the" Mark Antony hotel in Ashland. Demonstrations will be given in ballroom dances and the event will honor all students who will be graduat ing in the various dance cate gories at the studio. Nurse Secretary To Speak Here Miss Donna Monkman, ex ecutive secretary for the Ore gon State Board of Nurses, will be speaker for the month !y meeting of District 4, Ore gon Nurses Association, Tues day, May 14, at 8 p.m., at the Veterans' Administration, domiciliary, White City. Miss Monkman will speak of her recent trip to El Salva dor where she worked with nurses of that country in establishing professional nurse organizations and li censure laws. Her trip was sponsored by the United States Agency for Internation al Development, a program administered by the State De partment. All practical nurses of the area are invited as guests of District 4 nurses to hear Miss Monkman.
