Couple Arrives
From Germany
Mr. and Mrs. John E- Milne
have arrived in Medford irom
Germany and are with his
parents. Mr. and Mrs. E. E.
Milne, 2824 Country Club
drive.
The younger Mr. Milne has
just completed a two and one
half year tour of duty with
the Sixth Artillery of the
Third Armored division and
was stationed near Frankfurt.
He was a personnel specialist
with the division.
During his stay in Germany
Mr. Milne was married to
Miss Elke Krauss, daughter of
' Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Krauss of
Both-Gelnhausen, Germany.
This is Mrs. Milne's first stay
in the United States.
The young couple plan to
- make their home here.

Mrs. Chambreau left by plane
for their home in Portland
the bride was wearing a
beige sheath dress with match
ing jacket and black accesso
ries. In Portland
Mrs. Chambreau is a stu
dent at Portland State college
after attending the University
of Oregon last year. Her hus
band went to the University
of Oregon and Willamette
university and is now with
the U.S. National Bank of
Portland.

May 13. They will be of Col
orado, where Mrs. Lyon spent
most of her married life. Welt
informed of the history of
her home xtate, with its 52
peaks over 14,000 feet high
among the great Rocky moun
tains, Mrs. Lyon will narrate
the story of Colorado as she
shows the pictures.
Last week, over 30 men and
women attended the show
given by Edward Dahack on
the Hawaiian Islands and the
Dahack gardens on the Tiller
Trail road. Many of the au
dience expressed a desire to
hire a bus and spend a day
in the gardens if such a tour
could be arranged. The pic
tures Mr. Dahack took of the
flaming river of lava which
descended from an eruption
of a great mountain during
his time in Hawaii were hail
ed as most spectacular.
The groups who played
shuffleboard on Wednesdays
and the Square Dance group
which met each Thursday
morning are now canceled for
the spring and summer pe
riod. Wednesday morning is
free for special committee
meetings but Thursday morn
ing is now full with an inter
esting new activity, clay
sculpture, under the leader
ship of Mrs. Ruby Ralston,
The new group is now work
ing with a hundred pounds
of clay which they are mold
ing into life size heads. It is
hoped that some of the work
of these newly trained artists
can be finished and shown at
the open house planned by the
Center members Sunday. May
26 from 1-5 p.m. during Sen
ior Citizens week.
All groups will take part
in this annual celebration to
which the public is invited
each May.
Each year, the members of
the center show their appreci
ation of the free use of the
center and for the volunteer
help of the teachers by hold
ing this open house. The
event is always open to the
general public and especially
to newcomers and seniors who
have not yet entered any class.
New programs for the sum
mer season will be available
at the time.

their last week's meeting in
