OREGON Art Departments Plan Conference Ashland - Representatives and staff members from Ore gon College of Education and Eastern Oregon college will confer with Or. Jamej Doer ter, head of the Southern Ore gon college art department and members of the staff May 10 in Britt Student center. Purpose of the meeting will be to discuss new an pro grams and common problems in the slate college art pro gram. Those attending will be Mrs. Pearl Heath, head of the OCE art department; Dr. George Nightingale, head of the EOC art department and his staff; and Dr. Docrter, Otto Wilda, Marion Ady, and Rich ard Dol of the SOC art staff. Silkworms Used For Experiments Madison, N.J. - lUPU-Alan Smith, a student at Madison High school, uses silkworm caterpillars to study the im munological barrier. This is the biochemical system which causes members of different or even the same species to reject organ transplants. His experiments indicate the presence of an effective immunological barrier in one silkworm species but not in another. 'th . mils LAURA MAY NOBLE ' Wint in National Comtsi Eagle Point Girl Places Fourth in U.S. Competition Laura May Noble, Eagle Point, is the fourth place win ner of the senior division of the Pinto of the year and top 10 award for 1962 In the Unit ed States and Canada. The top 10 awards are pre sented each year to Pinto Horse association members who, with their horses, have accumulated the most points during the show season. Miss Noble is the 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Noble, Brophy rd. She is a junior at the Eagle Point High school. Recently she was selected to represent Eagle Point High for Student Gov ernment day in Jackson coun. ty. Her registered Pinto Is named "Senorita Cindy," was purchased in Eastern Oregon, has broke and trained it her self as a 4-H project. Miss Noble is an active sev enth year 4-H horse club mem ber of the Lake Creek Ranch- eros, was named Jackson County Horsemanship Cham pion of 1962 and received blue ribbons in horsemanship and showmanship at the 1962 State Fair. She belongs to Lake Creek 4-H beef, sewing, cooking clubs and is a junior leader in horse and cooking.
