Carl Allan Luchterhand ' (Clinic photo) Margaret Moir Bride of Carl Allen Luchterhand Miss Margaret Louise Moir, 519 South Holly street, be came the bride of Carl Allen Luchterhand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold S. Luchterhand, 1216 West. Eighth street, in a ceremony March 17 at St. Mark's Episcopal church. The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Edgar Moir, formerly of Medford and now of Amador City, Calif., was given in marriage by ,her father. Mrs. Ernest Conrad played the wedding music for the four o'clock afternoon rites. The Rev. George R. V. Bol. ster officiated at the double ring ceremony. White stock decorated the altar and church. The bride wore an after noon length frock of peau de soie fashioned with bell skirt which had a front panel em broidered with pearls. Her veil, held by a crown of seed pearls, wag made by Mrs. A. B. Geyer, Aberdeen, Wash., her grandmother. She carried a lace handkerchief, sent by a great aunt in Germany, and a bouquet of white carnations. Miss Alice Moir attended her sister. She wore a green taffeta frock with bell skirt and carried a bouquet of white daisies. Lloyd Joseph LeFaive Jr. served as best man and seat ing the guests were John and James Moir, Amador City, brothers of the bride. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Guild hall at the church. Mrs. Everett Ballard assisted by Mrs. Cecil Davis cut and served the wedding cake, made and decorated by Mrs. Avadna Martin. Miss Minda Ells presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Albert Heg-lund,- Seattle, godmother of the bride, poured coffee. Miss Nancy Maxson was in charge of the guest book. , The couple traveled to the coast on their wedding trip and are making their home in Klamath Falls. For traveling the bride wore a blue sheath dress and jacket. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and was employed at Swcm's. Mr. Luchterhand graduated from the same school and is a stu dent at Oregon Technical in stitute in Klamath Falls. Among the out of town guests attending were Mr. and Mrs, Geyer, Aberdeen, Wash., grandparents of the bride; Mrs. Frank Taylor, Lcland, Wash.; Mrs. Martin F. Prehm, Olympia, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moir, Chehalis, Wash.; Mrs. David Pryde, Grayland, Wash.; and Mrs. Katharine Smith, Ellcnsburg, Wash., all aunts and uncles of the bride, and Mark Hcglund. Miss Edzvards Bride Of James Culver Miller III When Miss Charlcne Mae Edwards became the bride of James Culver Miller HI March 17 in Napa, Calif., she carried a lace handkerchief which has been carried by numerous brides since the Civil War days, and which was a gift to the bridegroom's mother on her wedding day. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Ed wards, 170 Harrison street, Napa, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Miller Sr., 411 Oakwood drive, Medford, who went south for the ceremony. Others from Medford who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Preston and daughter, Miss Sue Preston, and the bridegroom's brothers, Steph en Miller and John Miller, who took part In the cere mony. Miss Marcy Miller, the bridegroom's sister, also of Medford, now attending Santa Catalina School for Girls in Monterey, Calif., assisted at the reception. Rites at Church The Rev. Alva Onclvke read the rites at 2 o'clock in the afternoon in the Napa First rrestjyterlan church. About 120 guests attended. ' Miss Martha Wren was the honor attendant and brides maids were sisters of the I Dride, the Misses Marilvn and Lois Edwards. Stephen Miller was his brothers best mm and John Miller, the other Brother, and Richard Llbbv. a cousin of the bride, seated the guests. The bride, clvcn in mar riage by her father, wore a gown designed with Chantilly lace bodice and slipper satin skirt trimmed with tiers of net and matching lace. She carried a bouquet of carna tions and stcphanotis centered with1 a corsage of gardenias. the attendants wore cowns of apple green poie de soie with matching hats and their bouquets were of pink carnations'. The church altar was deco rated with baskets of white gladiolus and while chrysan themums and other decora tions were of pink and white hawthorn. Mrs. Hector Mac Lean furnished the wedding music and the soloist was Miss Huth Rcames. Reception at Church The reception, given by the bride's parents, was held in the Fireside room of " the church. A buffet luncheon preceded serving of the wed ding cake. About 125 guests attended. Miss Marcy Miller had charge of the guest book. Her frock was in pale green and her wristlet was of pink and while carnations. Miss Claudia Edwards, a younger sister of the bride, distributed rice bags. She wore a frock of pink. The bride's mother wore a beige silk sheath dress with matching hat and her corsage was of rust colored eymbid ium orchids. The bridegroom's mother wore a sheath dress of powder blue with lace bodice, and a matching hat. Her cor sage was of white orchids. Among the guests at the wedding was the bride s un clc, Dr. William Libby of the Atomic Energy commission of Washington, D. C, and Los Angeles, a 1960 Nobel prize winner in chemistry; and the bridegroom's cousin, Lt. Col. James A. Gcrwick, command ant of the Air Force Missile base at Almadcn, Calif. Special guests were the bridegroom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben C. Gerwick of Berkeley, Calif., whose summer home is on the Apple gate river. The couple made a wedding trip along the Oregon coast and they were to arrive this week end at Martinez, Calif., where they will live. For traveling the bride wore a beige sheath dress with matching coat and blue acces sorics. The bride received her odu cation in California schools. The bridegroom is a gradu- ate of St. Mary's High school in Medford, and Oregon State university. He also attended California Polytechnic college and now is employed by the Langficld Frozen Foods corp oration in Oakland. Calif. v ' ' Judy Kay Rinker Betrothal News Is Announced Ashland-Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Rinker, 2100 Valley View road, Ashland, announce the engagement of their daughter, Judy Kay, to William R. La ton, son of Mrs. Kenneth Thompson, also Ashland. Miss Rinker is a 1962 grad uate of Southern Oregon col lege and is employed as an elementary teacher by the Eu gene city schools. Mr. Laton, a senior in general science at the University of Oregon. was graduated from Crater High school and also attended Southern Oregon college for three years. Beautiful peau de $1399 Newlyweds Make Home In Portland Mr. and Mrs. James Hery- ford Fontaine are making their home in Portland fol lowing their wedding March 9 in Grace Memorial Episco pal church, Portland. The bride is the former Ann Kristin Haldors, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haldors, Lake Oswego, Ore. Mr. Fontaine's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William E. Fon taine, 516 Belmont avenue, Medford, who went north for the ceremony. The Rev. John Richardson officiated at the eight o'clock evening rites. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white floor length gown of tissue taffeta styled on princess lines. The scoop neckline and bodice were accented with bands of lace and her elbow length veil was held by a matching pillbox hat. She car ried a bouquet of white roses on a prayer book. Attending the bride were Miss Susan Fontaine, Med ford, sister of the bridegroom, maid of honor, and Miss Mary Bates and Miss Mandy Kim ball, both Portland. They wore frocks of pale pink cry stalline and carried bouquets of red roses. John Fontaine, Medford, served as best man for his brother. Seating the guests were Thomas Walker, and John Klug. both Beaverton; William Plumb, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and Stephen Haldors. Portland, and James Haldors, Lake Oswego, both brothers of the bride. For her daughter s wedding Mrs. Haldors wore a tur quoise brocade frock with matching and white accesso ries. Mrs. Fontaine chose a raspberry silk dress with matching hat and shoes and white accessories. Their ilovt ers were white orchids. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the parish hall attended by 300 relatives and friends. The couple traveled to the Oregon coast on their wedding trip. The bride will graduate from Lewis and Clark college, Portland, this year. She is a member of Delta Phi Gamma sorority. Mr. Fontaine is a graduate of Lewis and Clark college and is a freshman at the university of Oregon Medical school. He is affiliat ed with Theta Chi fraternity. Wedding Date Set By Couple Mr. and Mrs. William V. Stocker, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, announce the engage ment and approaching mar riage of their elder daughter, Margaret Louise, to William Robert Dieriex, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Dieriex, The Dalles, Ore. Miss Stocker is chief medi cal technologist at Rogue Val ley Memorial hospital, Med ford. Mr. Dieriex is a sanitarian for the Jackson County Health department. The wedding is set for Fri day, May 3, at St. Mark's Episcopal church at eight o'clock. Couple to Wed In June Rites . Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Di anna Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent H. Thompson, Milwaukie. Ore., to Albert R. Eaton, formerly of Eagle Point, son of Mrs. A. J. Palmer, San Francisco, Calif. The b r I d e-elect attended Clackamas Union High school. Mr. Eaton, who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. RHy Ragsdale, Route 1. Box 202. Eagle Point, is a graduate of Eagle Point High school, lie is a student at the University of Oregon Dental school and plans to practice in Eagle Point following his gradua tion. No date has been set for the wedding. News has been received here of the residency of Mr. and Mrs. Richard K. Hawkins in Mpwapwa, Tanganyika, following their recent mar riage in that country and their wedding trip to Zanzi bar. The ceremony was per formed at three-thirty o'clock in the afternoon. February 23 in the town of Dar es Salaam by Archdeacon John Lury of the Episcopal church. .
