H.Loveness. located on a hilltop in the Bel Air additiop east of Medford, the house is of western contemporary design. Since Mr,' Loveness is a lumberman, western wood was largely used both -for the exterior and interior. As guests approach the main entrance, which faces northeast, they are introduced to the combination of oriental and American flavor and decor, which the couple adopted for the landscaping, the build '. ,' ! ing and furnishings. Mrs. loveness is pictured at the door. if! H tl "" ..:t-. Oriental type greenery in a stone planter', pieces of sculpture, artistic lighting, hangings and oriental chairs provide interest in the entrance hall. Plants and flowers of many varieties are growing in the various rooms, along the wooden walkway which surrounds the house and in small plots on the grounds. The south wall of the loveness home is almost entirely of glass and affords a magnificent view of the city, valley and the mountains; oaks grew close to the windows, adding a natural interestThe house was planned to the contour of the hilltop and only one tree had to be removed. On end of the living room is made into a music nook for the organ and grand piano. The house of eight rooms, and several halls was designed by Architect Alexander Diepenbrock and built by Owen Kunkel; it has three electric heating systems. ' " ' . f- r
