Donahoo, Jackson county veterans service of ficer, has issued a reminder to disabled war veterans and widows of war veterans that they must apply for their an nual state property tax ex- emptions on or before April 1, the legal deadline. The exemption amounts to S7 Rnn nf the true cash value of the homestead or personal property of the person quail fying. The nnnlication must be filed each year on or before the deadline with the county assessor of the county in whtrh (he nrnnertv is located Tlnnahnn noted. Anv support ing evidence required by law must be submitted before tne deadline. Persons entitled to the ex cmption include: Any war vet j 4 erans with a 40 per cent ois ahililv or more, as certified by the Veterans Administra tion or by a branch of the armed forces. The veteran receiving a to tal and permanent non-service connected pension from the VA also is entitled, under the law, the same as the vet a An npt ppnt. serv ice connected disability. There Is no limit on tne amount oi income a veteran in this cate gory may receive to be en titled to the exemption. Also Entitled Also entitled is the unre married widow of a war vet I- 4 eran. She must submit proof of her husband's military service and copies of the mar riage and death certificates if she has not previously sub mitted them. There is no in come limitaion to be consid ered. Pensioned widows of Spanish American War vet erans get an additional $500 exemption on their home steads, based on taxable value, Donahoo said. Any honorably discharged veteran of the Spanish Amer ican War, the Philippine In surrection or the Boxer Re bellion, regardless of disabil ity, also is eligible. There is no income limitations to be considered In these cases. Concert Set By Lewis, Clark Choir The Lewis and Clark col lege choir, Portland, will pre sent a concert starting at 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the First Presbyterian church in Medford. Medford will be the 13th stop in the choir's 15th an nual tour of Oregon, Cali fornia and Nevada. The choir, which sings without accompaniment, is under the direction of L. Stan Icy GliTiim, chairman of the music department or iewis and Clark college. Glarum is well-known for his composi tions and arrangements, many of which are sung throughout the United States. The annual tour of the choit is a tradition of the college and audiences have asked re turn engagements. As National Presbyterian Choir of the Year in lf(2, the 60 singers appeared in concert at the National As sembly of the church last May in Denver. Among members' of the choir is Lynn Peterson, daugh ter of Harry Fetorson, 7117 Slevrns si., Medford. Ilolrtt. who heads the re habituation program for the slate penal institutions under the slate board nf control.
