By Carl Bander This period we're aoina through right now in the au tomobile field is probably the most Important one in the his tory of the horseless carriage, and what's causing it is noth ing more or less than the old law of supply and demand. De troit had it pretty easy there for a spell. The big auto in dustry built what the public wanted and the public bought. This was especially true from 1946 on. The Second World War made people car-hungry and at first they d buy almost anything with wheels. Now, Detroit has found that people have changed their minds about the type of car they want, so the car builders are really scratching and coming up with great innovations. The only period comparable was from 1925 to 1932 which saw the development of the Ford V-8, the Chevrolet valve-in- head six, and the disc clutch. That's why we. at CARL'S EASTSIDE SHELL, keep the latest charts on all the new cars ;and we tiave the up-to-date equipment to service them. Our attendants are al ways fast, efficient and de pendable.
