Anniversary Given By Sojourners Fifteen past presidents of fhe Medford Sojourners at tended the 23rd anniversary luncheon and card party of the group last Thursday. It was held at the Girls Com munity club. Past presidents were Mrs. Walter Marquess, Mrs. Dee Wood, Mrs. Elmer Ness, Mrs. Evelyn Hendricks, Mrs. Glenn Tuttle, Mrs. T. E. Johnson, Mrs. Earl, Malbourn, Mrs. Gene Chamberlain, Mrs. M. H. Parsons, Mrs. John Mans field, Mrs. George Lovenborg, Mrs. A. L. McClure, Mrs. F. E. Cantrlll, Mrs. Clay M. Lee, and Mrs. Esther Coleman. The tables were decorated with red and white carnations. On the decorating committee were Mrs. Clifton Green, Mrs. Frank DeCosta, Mra. Loren Soots and Mrs. Frances Bean, who observed her 20th anni Party Given For Hoppes; Meeting Set A group of members from Boxy Ann court, Order of the Amaranth, honored Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoppe at a sur prise dinner party at Kim's restaurant Sunday, February 10. The Hoppes left Friday, February 15, to spend three weeks in the Hawaiian is lands. About 00 guests attended, Inking bon voyage cards and many nonsense presents. The group sang Hawaiian songs to end the evening. The next meeting of the court will be Thursday, Feb ruary 21, at the Medford Ma onic temple. Advance nighl will be observed, and the court will observe the anni versary of organization with Mr. and Mra. Hal Bishop pre siding. The refreshments com mittee will be headed by Mis. Allyn Monroe and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Swing. Butte Falls Couple On Southwest Trip Butte Falls-Mr. and Mrs. Een F. Moore left recently for a mon'h"s trip to visit friends and relatives through out California and Arizona. They also plan to visit in Mexico accompanied by their younger daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hanks and children, former Medford residents, who now live in Brawley, Calif. Civic Music Membership Drive Opens The Jackson County Civic Music association member hlp drive, to be held in the spring rather than the fall this year, will open April 1 and continue through April B, Mrs. Darrcl Huson, president of the unit has announced. Decision on the final date was made at a board meeting In the Huson home Thursday night. Jay Foster, Evanston. III., national Civic Music repres entative will arrive March 30 in Medford to attend a "kick-off" luncheon at the Tiogue Valley Country club. Participants in the drive will be invited to attend. Discussion at the recent meeting centered around the Luncheon versary as a member of the group. Among the 80 women at tending were two new mem bers Mrs. Evea Stults and Mrs. Loren Soots, Mrs. Lena Stub bin Introduced her daughter, Mrs. R. Flnnell. Prizes were won by Mrs. C. W. Booth and Mrs. Clara Klrsh in bridge; Mrs. Ralph Jones and Mrs. Henry Miller In canasta; and Mrs. Roland Howard and Mrs. James Cox in pinochle. Mrs. Arthur Backlund won a special prize. The bride, the former Miss Marlene Lois Pcch, is a daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Pech of Lake Creek. She at tended Eaglo Point schools and is employed at North's Chuck Wagon restaurant. Nelson officiated for the double ring ceremony attended by members of the families. The bride wore a pink bal Icrina length gown trimmed with pink and silver luce. Her lowers were gardenias. A dinner given by the bride's parents was held In the home of the bride's broth er, Jack Pcch. The couple made their wed ding trip to Portland. For traveling the bride chose a pink knit suit. The bride's family are long time residents of Lake Creek. Prin gle, 601 North Modoc avenue, whose marriage was an event of January 26, were honored at a dinner party last evening in the Colony club, 8 Geneva street. Couple Returns From Trip South Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Thomas returned to their home on Ashland avenue Thursday from spending two months in southern California land Ari zona. They were in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Phoenix and Tuscon for most of the time, spending the last three weeks of their winter vaca tion in Palm Desert.
