Jackson ville, became the bride of Robert Norman Clausen, De cember 7 she wore a locket first worn by her late mater nal great grandmother 75 years ago on her sixteenth birthday anniversary. The great grandmother, then Miss Mary Schultz of San Antonio, Tex., was later Mrs. Mary Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lee Strauss (Brainerd photo) Luncheon Slated For Social Club Reames Social club will hold the monthly luncheon Wednesday, December 19, at 12 noon at the Medford Ma sonic temple. This luncheon will honor all persons having birthdays in October, Novem ber and December. A short business meeting, followed by cards, will be pre sided over by president Mrs. H. L. Nulton. Mrs. E. Hood. They ar rived home the first of last week and are living in Apart ment 6, at 836 Taylor street in Medford. The bride is the former Miss Linda Mae Medford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle D. Medford, 121 South Main street, Phoenix. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Strauss, 2548 Sandy terrace, Medford. The Rev. John E. Simon performed the double ring ceremony at eight thirty o'clock in the evening. The altar was lighted with tapers and lighted candles were used on the pew ends. Mrs. Larry S w e e m, Phoenix, a sister of the bride, was matron of honor and the I bridesmatrons were Mrs. J Michael Morriscy, Grants J Pass, and Mrs. Jerry Kime, : Medford. ! Gary Clark, Medford, was best man and seating the guests were Mr. Kime, Mr. Morriscy and Jerry Johnson. Bride Wean Silk The bride's father escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. Her chapel length pcau de soie gown was styled with full length sleeves. The bodice was of Chanlilly lace trimmed with pearls and with sweet heart neckline. Her veil was fingertip length and she car ried a white orchid with pas tel yellow carnations. The attendants wore satin frocks with overlay skirts trimmed with half-bows at the back, the honor attendant in bronze rust and the brides matrons in gold. Mrs. Sweem's bouquet was of gold chrysanthemums and the bridesmatrons carried rust col ored chrysanthemums. Mother Wean Blue The bride's mother wore a gown of twilight blue velvet with black accessories and onevmoon ine Lodge the bridegroom's mother was dressed in a turquoise blue suit dress with matching ac cessories. Both had corsages of yellow carnations. Rust and gold colored chry santhemums decorated the church. Mrs. Stanley Snook was soloist and Mrs. Richard B. Smith furnished the wedding music. TTie reception was given by the bride's parents in the church rooms. The wedding cake, made by Mrs. Edwin Hayes, was cut 'and served by Mrs. E. V. Tompkins. Punch was served by Miss Diane Paulsen and Mrs. Gary Picard registered the guests. The bride was graduated from Phoenix High school and attended Robertson School of Business. She is em ployed by the Ideal Cement company in Gold Hill as a timekeeper. The bridegroom was grad uated from Medford High school and attended Southern Oregon college. He is em ployed by the Safeway Stores, Inc. Thomas, 332 Bessie street, Medford. The double-ring ceremony was performed at 8 o'clock in the evening in the Jack sonville First Presbyterian church by the Rev. King K. Jones. Miss Careen Carter, Med ford, was the honor at tendant and bridesmaids were the Misses Mary Davis and Betty Davis, sisters of the bride, Miss Laura Rupert, and Miss Joan Taylor, Alame da, Calif., a cousin of the bride. Benjamin Long was best man and ushers were Steven Ray, Steven Smith, Tim White and Rex Nico demus. Bobbie Sue Shores, Med ford, was flower girl, and Dean Calkins, Medford, car ried the rings. Lighting the candles were a brother and sister of the bride, Joe and Frances Davis. - The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a ballerina length lace gown over taffeta with scalloped neckline and styled with long pointed sleeves. The full skirt was designed with tiers of ruffles in a bustle effact across the back and her short veil was held from a pearl crown. Her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums with a white orchid. V Adarel Chapter Schedules Party Jacksonville The Christ mas party for members of the Adarel chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and their fam ilies, will begin with a pot luck dinner at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, December 20 in the Jacksonville Masonic temple. A regular meeting will con vene at 8 p.m., with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Snores presiding as worthy matron and worthy patron. Members and guests are to take gifts for an exchange. Women are to take gifts marked for women, and the men are to lake gifts marked for men. Children are invited to attend with their parents to the polluck dinner and parents are to lake a gift for their own child. Reception Given About 100 persons attend ed the reception given by the bride's parents in the Fellow ship hall of the church. Miss Sue Green registered the guests and Miss Patricia Brown and Miss Gayle Offen- bacher poured. Mrs. Kenneth Owen cut the cake while Miss Dixie Taylor presided at the gift table. Assisting were Mrs. John Niedermeyer, Mrs. Fred Edens, Mrs. Harry White and Mrs. Charles Kim ball. Mrs. Fred Wilkins, Med ford, made the wedding cake. A special guest at the wed ding ceremony and reception was Mrs. Lena Lambert, Med ford, grandmother of the bride. The bride's mother wore a peacock blue silk shantung sheath dress with white ac cessories, and white chrysan themum corsage. The bride groom's mother was dressed in a bone color frock with red accessories. Her corsage was of red carnations. The couple made their wed ding trip to San Francisco and the Bay area. They will live at 430 North Grape street in Medford. For travel ing the bride wore a white wool ensemble with black accessories. Beta Upsilon Schedules Party Tuesday Night The Christmas parly for Beta Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority is sched uled for Tuesday evening, De cember 18 when secret sisters will be revealed and food for baskets for needy families will be taken to the meeting. The event will be held in the home of Mrs. Cliff Kurl, 47 Eastwood drive, Medford. Plans also are being made for a New Years eve party to be held in the American Le gion hall. Invitations have been extended to other chap ter members, their husbands and guests. The chapter invited mem bers of Xi Beta Kappa chapter to their last meeting Decem ber 6. The program was ar ranged by Mrs. Kurl. Pre sented was Douglas P. Huegli, assistant vice president of the Oregon bank, Portland, who ; showed replicas of world fa mous diamonds in conjunction with the seventy-fifth anni versary of the founding of the bank.
