Miss Mencke, now a Navy Mothers Medford Navy Mothers club will serve a potluck luncheon at noon Tuesday, December 4 when they will hold an all-day meeting in the home of Mrs. O. R. Early in the year the women vote in each unit to decide which subject they would be most interested in learning more about. Most of the units will have a lesson on yeast breads, ac cording to Miss Joan Beasley, home agent, who taught pro ject leaders the principles of working with yeast. The demonstrations will in clude breads, fancy holiday breads, sweet rolls and coffee cakes. Westside Wcstsidc unit will meet Thursday, December 6, 1D62, at 10:30 a. m at the home of Mrs. Austin E. Mcro, 16 15 1 Thomas road, will be the; hostess for the Griffin Creek unit at her home on Friday, December 7, at 10:30 a. m. Mrs. Noel Erskinc and Mrs. Eugene Pease will give the lesson. The covered dish luncheon at noon will feature Christmas foods. There will be a gift ex change Christmas party in the afternoon. Those attending are , reminded to take a handmade , ornament to decorate the Christmas tree. Winchester Winchester unit will meet Thursday, December 6, in the home of Mrs. Fred Buchling, 1232 Winchester avenue. A special Interest project in gift wrapping will be given. Members arc to be prepared with suggestions for next year's project planning. This is the unit's annual Christmas party with exchange of gifts by members. Mrs. Gordon Gillmnre and Mrs. John Fink bcincr will be cohostcss for the evening. Among the lbO guests who joined in the celebration were four generations of the family: Mrs. Jackson's 91-year-old father, E. B. Fisher of Craig, Colo., and their son and his three sons, David. Mclvin and Robert, all of Ashland. They have made their home in Ashland since 1920. Mr. Jackson has owned and operated restaurants in north ern California and southern Oregon until recently and i: now devoting most of his tunc to rental interests. Mrs. Jackson's hobby is iris and day lily culture and the Jack son gardens are famous for their beautiful spring and summer flowers. Each year crowds of visitors come from long distances to see the spec tacular display. Mrs. Jackson has been an active member of the Ashland Garden club for many years. Phoenix Women Phoenix - Area women who are interested in filling their Christmas lists arc invited to the annual holiday bazaar of the Women's association of the Phoenix Presbyterian church Friday, December 7. at the church. A wide selection of bazaar items along with baked goods will be on sale begin ning at 12 noon, the commit tee states.
