Elected were the Rev. and Mrs. Gilbert O. Skaar, Mrs. Dorothy Herbert, John Lane, Mrs. David Johnson, Mrs. Ethel Allen, and Fred Ever- son. The church has 200 mem bers of which 94 are non-resi dents. It was reported that the Vacation Bible school this summer was the largest for the last 10 years with 174 en rolled. Sunday at 11 a.m. Mr. Skaar will speak on "A Man Who Missed Church." Willcuts, the pastor's wife, will give a chalk talk narrated by tape record ing. This is the first Sunday in a series of Sunday school emphasis days planned for the fall months. Thompson began his pastor ate at the South Umpqua Community church with the evening service Sept. 9. The Rev. John Goddard, Tenmile, had charge of the morning worship. The Thompsons studied the ology at the Bible Standard College at Eugene. His first pastorate was at Gold Bar, Wash., in 1951. The Thompsons came to Tiller from Bend. They have three sons, Randall 10, Jeffery 8, and Bradley 6. Mrs. Lester Gordon intro duced Celia, Christine, and Maryls Gorden, who per formed several dances and acrobatic numbers. They were accompanied by Mrs. Theron Gorden, their teacher. A skit "Bargain Sale" was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Walters, and Mrs. Walters gave a reading, "One Suc cessful Farmer." Miss Mary Louise Truly re viewed the 4-H summer school.
