Norris, 55, of 105 Lozier lane, who died Thursday will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Perl Funeral home. The Rev. Leon McDoiiRall, assist ant pastor of Portland Grace Cathedral Episcopal church, will officiate. Commital serv ices at the Jacksonville ceme tery will be conducted by of ficers of the Elks lodge. Mr. Norris, the son of John R. Norris and Ida Brown, was born in Jackson county on Jan. 22, 1907. He has been an employee of the Copco Di vision of Pacific Power and Light as assistant paymaster for (he past 32 years. He was a member of the Medford Benevolent and Pro tective Order of Elks and served as eNalted ruler in 1947-1948. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal church and the Medford Rose society. On Oct. 7. 1933 in Medford, he was married to Verna K. Dudley who survives. Other survivors include two daugh ters, Mrs. Dave (Donna) Shaf fer, Medford; Mrs. W. D. (Nancy) Clawson, Medford; one brother, V. Aubrey Nor ris, Medford; his stepmother, Mrs. Stephen Smith and three grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers, all exalted rulers of the Medford Elks lodge, will be Franklin Van Pelt, Aubrey Sander. Vic Kengla. Murray Gardiner, Frank Hussong, Ernest Seott, Chet Leonard. E. W. To qualify, the scholarship candidate must be approved by the Southern Oregon col lege board of scholarships and be accepted by the custodian of the fund. No legal responsi bility is incurred, but the can didate is expected to repay the money in order to keep the fund active. Donald ScroRgins, 19, of To ledo, suifered a cut tendon and burns to his left hand Thursday morning when a piece of ammunition exploded in the breach of the 40 mm gun he was firing. Scroggins was taken to an Astoria hospital. His condi tion was described as not serious. Five oilier men near the gun suffered cuts and bruLses and were treated on the scene. The accident took place al 11 a.m. on the firing range of the National Guard camp here. Scroggins was a member of Battery B of the Third Auto matic Weapons Battalion, of Newport.
