Tuesday Meetings The White Cross Mission ary circles nf the Women's Fellowship of the First Bap tist church will meet Tues day, July 24, starting at 10 a.m. for the day circles. The couple was on their wed ding trip. Mrs. Brooks is the former Miss Karen Frohs of Jackson ville. Her father is Carl Frohs of Oswego, Ore. Mr. Brooks' parents are Mr. and Mrs. Homer L. Brooks. San Diego. The couple's marriage was an event of July 7 in tne Scott Memorial church in San Diego. Thomas C. Castro, La Mesa, Calif., a brother-in-law of the bride, gave her in marriage. For her wedding the bride chose a white brocaded cotton two-piece frock which she wore with white accessories. Her corsage was a purple orchid. Mrs. Castro, the former Miss Connie Frohs of Jack sonville, was honor attendant for her sister. Her pink sheath dress also was of bro caded cotton and she wore matching pink accessories. Her corsage was of pink and white carnations. Richard D. Brooks, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Pink gladioli and white car nations decorated the church. The reception was held after the ceremony at the home of the bridegroom's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Homer L. Brooks Jr., in San Diego. The bride Is a 1959 gradu ate of Jacksonville High school and is employed in San Diego by Carter, John son, Inc. The bridegroom was gradu ated from California, Western university and is an airman second class. He will leave soon for Maryland where he will receive a three months training before leaving for Scotland where he is to be stationed at the Royal Air Force base for three years. The bride plans to continue with her employment in San Diego during the training period, then Join her husband in Scotland. While on their wedding trip they also attended a fam ily reunion in Salem at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Ted Wangler and Mr. Wang ler. MEDFO. 0BGl From there the couple con tinued to Ocean Lake on the coast where they stayed for two days at the beach home of Mr. and Mrs. Frohs. While in this area the bride was honored at a shower for which Mrs. Floyd Wyatt and her daughter. Miss Robin Wyatt, were hostesses in their home in Jackson ville Guest included Miss Martv Wyatt, Mrs. Gerald Stewart Miss Nancy Niedermeyer, Mrs. Dale McCay and Mrs. Marty Perreard. all of Jack sonville; Mrs. Richard Foran, Eagle Point, and Mrs. Long, the bride's mother. Miss Janet L, Hobbs Spring Wedding Planned by Pair Central Point-Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hobbs, 143 Bush street. Central Point, announce the engagement of their daugh ter, Miss Janet L. Hobbs, to Delton G. Trautman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Trautman, Old Stage road, Central Point. Miss Hobbs was graduated from Crater High school in 1962. She is employed by Dr. B. L. Turner in Central Point. Mr. Trautman is also a gradu ate of Crater High school. He employed by the Rogue River Valley Creamery, and plans to attend Oregon State university in the fall. Family Visiting At Elmore Home Mrs. Robert Anderson and children, Susan, Bobby and Donny, of Lakewood, Calif., arrived last week for a 10 day visit with Mrs. Ander son's mother, Mrs. E. S. Stro ther, and Mr. Strother. and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elmore, 1059 Morrow road. Also visiting with the El mores is Robert Berg, Port land, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Berg, all former Medford residents. He is a former classmate of John Elmore. The Wal church has undertaken to fi nance the transportation costs to and from the middle east ern country for the doctor and his family. Dr. Roberts will be work ing the Hamadan Christian hospital. His work is being sponsored by the Commission on ecumenical. Missions and Relations of the United Pres byterian church. The family will also he honored at a farewell service this evening at the Medford Friends church, of which they are members. They will participate in the 7:30 o'clock service. The social hour fol lowing the service will be in their honor. 4 To Meet Mrs. Ranald Axlell will talk on "Old Fashioned Roses" at meeting of the Medford Rose society, sched uled to be held in the court house auditorium Monday, July 23. Main 772-6547 Miss Peterson, Miss Eaden Engaged To Twin Brothers Two recent engagement an nouncements, one in Eugene and the other in Milwaukie are of interest to residents as the bridegrooms-elect are the Women Back From Baptist Conference Mrs. Clifford Young and Mrs. William White recently returned from the American Baptist Woman's conference held at Linfield college, Mc Minnville. The women repre sented the Eastwood Baptist church in Medford. The con ference was held July 16, 17 and 18, and 126 women from the American Baptist churches in Oregon attended. Following the theme "Here in Is Love," Mrs. Lewis Brown, a retired missionary, who served for 37 years with her husband in the Congo field, spoke at Monday eve ning's banquet on "Love Let ters and Reflections," Tues day on "Congo Kaleidoscope" and Wednesday on "Africa's Heart." Mrs. Frank Pattison, Eu gene, and Mrs. t. D. ray tor, Roseburg, state president and vice-president of the American Baptist Women, presided at the conference. Workshops were held for each division of officers of the associations and local societies of the state. Local yearbooks for 1961-62 were judged for excellence and that from Eastwood was chosen to receive first place. Fellowship Guild scholarships were presented to two Oregon girls, from McMinnville and Roseburg. Couple Wed In Ashland Rites Miss Jeanette Hazel Day became the bride rf Maynard Wayne Talley, Ashland, Fri day, July 13, in a ceremony held at the home of the bride groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Talley, 243 Granite street, Ashland. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Day, 417 King street. Justice of the Peace Frances Gallatin performed the cere mony at 6 o'clock in the eve ning. The bride wore a red sheath frock with while acces sories for her wedding, and her flowers were carnations. For the wedding trip to the coast, she chose a white suit. Love Family Hosts Brother Prospect Mr. and Mrs. Blair Stephens and family, Portland, were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Love. Mr. Stephens is a brother of Mrs. Love. Landers' was announced at the conclusion of the ordination service of the bridegroom-elect. The an nouncement was made by the Rev. Donald Baker, minister of the Milwaukie First Barlist church. Miss Peterson and the Rev. Ted Landers plan a January wedding. She is a graduate of Estacada High school and is a student at Judsnn Baptist college, Portland. Miss Eaden is a student in nursing at Emanuel hospital in Portland and will complete her training next year.
