Couple Visits Relatives
In Valley After Wedding:

Central Point Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Carroll Brooks
left Saturday morning for
their home in San Diego,
Calif., after visiting Mrs.
Brooks' mother, Mrs. Wallace
Long, and Mr. Long, 3395
Freeland road, Central Point.
The couple was on their wed
ding trip.
Mrs. Brooks is the former
Miss Karen Frohs of Jackson
ville. Her father is Carl
Frohs of Oswego, Ore. Mr.
Brooks' parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Homer L. Brooks. San
Diego.
The couple's marriage was
an event of July 7 in tne
Scott Memorial church in
San Diego.
Thomas C. Castro, La Mesa,
Calif., a brother-in-law of the
bride, gave her in marriage.
For her wedding the bride
chose a white brocaded cotton
two-piece frock which she
wore with white accessories.
Her corsage was a purple
orchid.
Mrs. Castro, the former
Miss Connie Frohs of Jack
sonville, was honor attendant
for her sister. Her pink
sheath dress also was of bro
caded cotton and she wore
matching pink accessories.
Her corsage was of pink and
white carnations.
Richard D. Brooks, brother
of the bridegroom, was best
man.
Pink gladioli and white car
nations decorated the church.
The reception was held after
the ceremony at the home of
the bridegroom's brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Homer L. Brooks Jr., in San
Diego.
The bride Is a 1959 gradu
ate of Jacksonville High
school and is employed in
San Diego by Carter, John
son, Inc.
The bridegroom was gradu
ated from California, Western
university and is an airman
second class. He will leave
soon for Maryland where he
will receive a three months
training before leaving for
Scotland where he is to be
stationed at the Royal Air
Force base for three years.
The bride plans to continue
with her employment in San
Diego during the training
period, then Join her husband
in Scotland.
While on their wedding
trip they also attended a fam
ily reunion in Salem at the
home of the bride's aunt, Mrs.
Ted Wangler and Mr. Wang
ler. In Oswego they were
guests of her father and Mrs.
Frohs, and also of the bride's
grandmother, Mrs. Anna
Frohs.

From there the couple con
tinued to Ocean Lake on the
coast where they stayed for
two days at the beach home
of Mr. and Mrs. Frohs.
While in this area the
bride was honored at a
shower for which Mrs. Floyd
Wyatt and her daughter. Miss
Robin Wyatt, were hostesses
in their home in Jackson
ville Guest included Miss Martv
Wyatt, Mrs. Gerald Stewart
Miss Nancy Niedermeyer,
Mrs. Dale McCay and Mrs.
Marty Perreard. all of Jack
sonville; Mrs. Richard Foran,
Eagle Point, and Mrs. Long,
the bride's mother.

Mr. Trautman is also a gradu
ate of Crater High school. He
employed by the Rogue
River Valley Creamery, and
plans to attend Oregon State
university in the fall.

At Elmore Home
Mrs. Robert Anderson and

Donny, of Lakewood, Calif.,
arrived last week for a 10
day visit with Mrs. Ander
son's mother, Mrs. E. S. Stro
ther, and Mr. Strother. and
her brother-in-law and sister,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elmore,
1059 Morrow road.
Also visiting with the El
mores is Robert Berg, Port
land, who is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Berg, all
former Medford residents. He
is a former classmate of John
Elmore.

Mrs. Ralph Aubrey, 500

their daughter, Linda Ann, to
Larry Lee Bucy, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Bucy, Caldwell,
Idaho.
Miss Aubrey was graduated
from Medford High school in
1961, and both young people
are now attending San Jose
Bible college, San Jose, Calif.

December 2R, in Medford.

ern country for the doctor and
his family.
Dr. Roberts will be work
ing the Hamadan Christian
hospital. His work is being
sponsored by the Commission
on ecumenical. Missions and
Relations of the United Pres
byterian church.
The family will also he
honored at a farewell service
this evening at the Medford
Friends church, of which
they are members. They will
participate in the 7:30 o'clock
service. The social hour fol
lowing the service will be in
their honor.

Conference
Mrs. Clifford Young and
Mrs. William White recently
returned from the American
Baptist Woman's conference
held at Linfield college, Mc
Minnville. The women repre
sented the Eastwood Baptist
church in Medford. The con
ference was held July 16, 17
and 18, and 126 women from
the American Baptist churches
in Oregon attended.
Following the theme "Here
in Is Love," Mrs. Lewis
Brown, a retired missionary,
who served for 37 years with
her husband in the Congo
field, spoke at Monday eve
ning's banquet on "Love Let
ters and Reflections," Tues
day on "Congo Kaleidoscope"
and Wednesday on "Africa's
Heart."
Mrs. Frank Pattison, Eu
gene, and Mrs. t. D. ray tor,
Roseburg, state president and
vice-president of the American
Baptist Women, presided at
the conference. Workshops
were held for each division
of officers of the associations
and local societies of the state.
Local yearbooks for 1961-62
were judged for excellence
and that from Eastwood was
chosen to receive first place.
Fellowship Guild scholarships
were presented to two Oregon
girls, from McMinnville and
Roseburg.

held at the home of the bride
groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs.

a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

and will complete her training
